Friday Night Open Thread

Over at my little blog, I have a post up about how I’m missing music from the 40s.

If you want to know the whole story behind it, you can check it out here.

If you are only curious if there’s a video of 40s music that I posted, well, there is. The only thing you’ll get is the story I wrote to go along with it. I’m just posting the video here. Well, that and a link to the little story that goes along with it.

See how nice I am? I’m not going to make you click through to my little blog to see the video I posted. Although, if you want to click through, feel free.

Here, though, it’s time for Friday Night Open Thread. You pick the topic, or topics, and others join in. And this goes on all night long.

Who wants to start?

  1. Rembrandt van Rijn, the great painter, was born July 15, 1606. As for 1940s music, here’s Charlie Parker playing “Anthropology” (same chords as “I Got Rhythm”). I think that that’s Symphony Sid Torin announcing the piece.
