  1. Johnny Carson was, in fact, born October 23, 1925, in Corning, Iowa, which is in Adams County, in the south-eastern part of Iowa. His family moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, when he was eight, which is why he frequently mentioned Nebraska on his show.


  2. Moss Hart, who, with George S. Kaufman, wrote two of the funniest plays ever in You Can’t Take It With You and The Man Who Came to Dinner and one lesser but still quite funny play in Once in a Lifetime, was born October 24, 1904.
