One of my favorite songs on The Beatles (White Album) is George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps. But, the recording for the 2006 Love album is an interesting take on it. It’s a take that previously appeared on Anthology 3, but with some orchestration George Martin added.
It’s different, but it’s good. Oh, and the lyrics are different in a couple of places.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve enjoyed Harrison’s songs for the Beatles much more. I enjoyed them when I was younger — well, most of them — but much more today.
How about you? Anything you’ve gained a greater appreciation of as the years have passed? Or is there something else you’d like to talk about? Because this is Thursday Night Open Thread. You talk about whatever you want.
