Sunday Update

Hey! New Simpsons tonight! Hooray!
Anyway, my In My World™ is written for tomorrow and I think it’s pretty funny… but what the hell do I know?
Here is my vote for the New Weblog Showcase. Go check it out. If you’re an Alliance member, make sure to vote so we aren’t beaten by The League of Liberals who gloat when troops get killed. What a bunch of muckadoos…
I’ve now gotten about halfway through February with my random quotes. I got a lot funnier this year, so there’s a lot for from each month to add. If you want my random quote on your site, just add this line to your html:
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://www.imao.us/docs/quotes.txt”></script>
Anyway, I’m really busy still, but I’ll try and keep the funny coming.

  1. Thanks for your vote, Frank J. It means alot to me, since your blog is one of the reasons I started blogging myself. You have a gift for humor. My blog isn’t as entertaining, but we all can’t be the same, now can we?
Good luck with your novel, and thanks again for the vote!

  2. What Jack is promoting isn’t free market policy. Just the
opposite, he’s promoting a government regulated job market. A truly free market policy means allowing an
employer to find the cheapest labor that will do the job.
On the other hand, social programs create an artificial incentive to bring immigrants into this country.
The solution is to eliminate social programs and then you can roll immigration policy back to one soley concerned with security. Alternatively, you can create a system where you have to have worked in this country for a period of time before qualifying for benefits. I think that given the transformation of America into a post-industrial economy, the need for immigrant workers has increased since most Americans won’t work for immigrant wages.
This is speculation on my part but I’d bet that the unions are the ones who keep the legal immigration bar high. Immigrant labor is a threat to unskilled or low skilled workers. But I don’t see why the rest of us should pay higher prices for products because the shelf stacker insists on getting health care benefits.

  3. “Bush invited attack… guess they R.S.V.P’d ‘yes’ ” -League of Liberals
What a bunch of asshats. Not only do they attack Bush’s “Bring it on” statement but then, they want an apology from the President. Question: how else was the President supposed to respond to terrorism? “Please don’t hurt us, here, take Israel instead?” If the terrorists want to fight, fine, bring it on, we will hunt them down and either kill or imprison them. There is no other acceptable response to terrosim except that if they want to maim and murder fine, they can give us their best shot, but we will hunt them to the ends of the earth. The League of Liberals was stupidity at its finest.

  4. So, Mel, are you saying that we should do away with all immigration restrictions in the name of free enterprise?
Sorry, but that’s nuts. Considering the problems we’ve had with people getting into the country who shouldn’t be, we should be cracking down on illegals, not letting more in.
