Pearls Before Swine

This is funny. A poster on DU starts talking sense about the idiocy of Dean, and everyone else freaks out.
Sometimes I really wonder who are these people that make up DU and how representative they are of the Democratic base. They keep running as fast as they can into brick walls, telling themselves how great their strategy is. If this is the competition for 2006, expect the Democrats to be extinct by 2008.
We need to stuff one for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

  1. The thing with Dean is that he enjoys the huge public notariety of having TRIED for the presidency, but technically does not suffer under the the same stigma of Gore – having actually LOST.
The Dems will stay rank-and-file behind their guys, forgiving/ignoring ANY idiocy, evil, transgression or lack of character and there is only ONE thing you could do that would get you shunned: Lose.
He has not ACTUALLY lost…yet, so the Dems will continue to hope against hope that he will turn out to be the second coming of Clinton.

  2. I know. I read that stuff over there and I have to wonder – is this how my Dem-voting friends REALLY feel, or are the DU posters just a small wacky fraction of that group?
It’s scary. There are freaks on both sides, though. Some of the comments on LGF make me squeemish, too.

  3. I’m lucky enough to live out in the country, where most folks are conservative. I always thought it was just the leadership; it’s hard to believe everyday people are such moonbats.
Forget hats: these people are wearing tinfoil balaclavas.

  4. Look at me! I can be a democrat too.
If something good happens (for the world, country, or individuals): “It’s a Karl Rove trick!”
If something bad happens: “It’s the hitler like administrations fault!”
If something indefferent happens: “It’s a right wing conspiracy, probably controlled by corporate america and haliburten!”

  5. I really don’t know how mainstream this is outside of New England, but at UConn that is absolutely what most young people think. Yeah, there are conservative bullies, but it is unimaginable that anyone could get away with what Dean and the DU have.

  6. Ugh, I feel like I need a shower now! DU is soooo gross. Its funny though, I didn’t see any of them talking about how the Dums are behind the Reps by $24 million in fund-raising so far. Keep up the great work Mr. Dean!

  7. I noticed the billboard for the DNC one posted:
“Jesus cared for the poor -So do we”
But it was missing the last sentence:
“But we care more, so you don’t NEED Jesus”

  8. WOW! So I went onto DU and registered and added a few posts to encourage this guy who was speaking sense, and to ask a couple of questions.
I went WAY out of my way to not incite anything. But I got booted!
If this is what they call a free exchange of ideas, they better get ready to be the minority party for a long time.

  9. U-Hippie-
If a moderate (or even sane) democrat can’t reason with these folks without being totally alienated, what the heck made ya think you could go in as a sane republican?
I’ve gone in under cover as a ranting and raging minority against “the republican machine” and got banned the moment I made a sane suggestion. lol
Yeah they’re a special kinda nuts at DU.
