There is now a recall effort for Gov. Kathleen Blanco for reasons I don’t think I need to go into explicit detail about. Though I love replacing Democrats with Republicans, especially replacing them with action stars still struggling with the English language, I have to stand in principle against recalls. Unless a politician is actually criminal (and not just incompetent to the point it seems criminal), you’re stuck with the idiot for the designated time period. That’s the punishment for being bad voters, and, if voters aren’t punished, how will the ever learn to vote smart? Remember: Bad politicians are a result of bad voters, and, if voters are never held accountable, how will we get good voters?
I recommend to the citizens of Louisiana to ridicule and taunt Blanco to the point to she runs away crying anytime she sees a camera. It’s the more democratic thing to do than a recall.
“Remember: Bad politicians are a result of bad voters, and, if voters are never held accountable, how will we get good voters?”
Sadly true, but that didn’t stop me from Laughing my A$$ off!!
First?
One interesting thing about Gov. Blanco’s election is that she won because she had the votes of those very voters from New Orleans for whom she is so desperate to postpone the local elections. Without them, she would not have won, and they’re gone. My hope is that means that when the next elections come along, we won’t be stuck with such an imbecile.
What about me? I didn’t live in Louisiana when she was elected, so I have none of the responsibility for her being in office, but still must suffer the consequences. Can I recall her myself?
I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get smart voters since the rules are so simple. [R] is for the Right candidate and [D] is for the Dumb candidate…
Gov. Blanco could certainly put an end to these unreasonable attacks by voters who expect her to be competent by moving to Boise, Idaho. She could replace our democratic mayor, and we would have zero democratic growth in city government. We do not require public speaking ability, public relations experience, or logical thought progression. Knowing the actual budget for the city is also optional. No one notices. If she is willing to ride her bike to work occasionally, and does not mind attending frequent ribbon cutting events, we probably have the job for her.
I am a citizen of Louisiana (North Louisiana, high and dry), and I don’t think we should recall Gov. Blanco.
However, is it at all sexist to suggest that all female politicians should be spanked on national TV everytime they get low polling numbers? Am I totally out of line on this one?
If I am, just say so.
Belloq

Actually you’re tempting me to run for office Belloq…but only if Dean Cain does the spanking.
Compassionate Conservatism at it’s finest: Make them run away crying.
Brilliant
Compassionate Conservatism?
Did George Bush start this post? I thought it was FrankJ!
Hmmm. Frank, did you know President Bush has been impersonating you again?
I agree Frank. Bad voters should be punished by having to live with their mistakes. Then vote Republican next time. Oh…and you so funny.
