Now Democrats are saying don’t elect someone who supports Democrats

In Alabama’s State Senate district 27, there’s an interesting battle going on.

The Democrat Party nominee is 8-term incumbent, Ted Little.

The Republican Party nominee is Tom Whatley.

What makes this so interesting is that the Democrat is criticizing the Republican by saying he’s really a Democrat.

It’s not that Ted Little’s ad is making any false claims. As far as I can tell, the ad is true.

But it’s funny to see a Democrat criticizing an opponent … by calling him a Democrat.

Little, the Democrat, is saying don’t vote for the Republican because the Republican supports Democrats and you don’t want someone who supports Democrats winning this election!

This is certainly an interesting political year.

  1. You’ve got to love circular thought.

Off, off, off topic. Any news on the baby front, I’ve been out of touch for that last two days. We welcomed a new grand baby yesterday morning so I’m now able to think about someone else’s baby.

[No news as of now. They are posting updates on teh Twitters. Yes, a lot of you think it’s teh ghey, but it’s still an option:

And, after Buttercup makes her grand appearance, you can always stop going there. – B.]

  2. ButtercupFlem? Ewwww! Someone hand me a wipe. Make that 2.

One of my sisters had the in-house nickname of Butterball. (like the turkey) She wasn’t fat or anything, I guess it’s just because her name started with a B.

  3. So this asshole Whatley-come-lately is the R nominee? When were the primaries? 2006? How did such a friggin lib get votes?

[He didn’t get any votes. He was the only person to qualify to run as a Republican in that district. And, in Alabama, when the seat is uncontested in a primary, the name doesn’t appear on the ballot. He wins by default.

    Maybe I should have run. – B.]

  4. I think Lindsey Graham and John McCain just might have to take him out. After all, he’s just the kind of “Republican” that CNN and MSNBC are looking for, and NO ONE cuts into McCain or Grahams’s precious face time!

  5. Does anyone else feel like a sympathetic expectant parent for Frank & SarahK? Like those people who have all the symptoms of pregnancy even when they’re not pregnant? I remember one story of a woman who gave birth to an 8 lb. bunch of grapes that apparently was some benign tumors or something but she had had all the signs of pregnancy and they called it a sympathetic pregnancy because her best friend was pregnant and they always wanted to get pregnant together.

Well I feel like a sympathetic expectant parent. Like Ricky Ricardo & Fred & Ethel Mertz when they had the suitcase packed and practiced dry runs to the hospital and were just sitting around waiting for Lucy to say the word. Then when Lucy said it was time of course the suitcase contents spilled all over the floor and they all ran out of the apartment and left Lucy there alone.

That’s how I feel now, like I’m sitting here with my suitcase packed waiting.
