Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that will ban smoking in most public places in Russia.

Must be prepping for a run at Bloomberg’s job.

  1. actually it was the Lower House of the Russian Parliament (their Congress) that passed the anti-tobacco bill. The elected officials in Russia banned smoking not Vladamir Putin.

Ya know whats funny about people who hate Putin is that he is a Christian and most of the people who call him names are anti-christian Socialists, Liberals and COMMUNISTS. Personally I wouldn’t want communists selling tobacco to “my” citizens.

  2. Carpenter, did you happen to pass Civics when you were in school? Yes, the Russian legislative body passed the bill, AND THEN the Russian president SIGNED IT INTO LAW. Strange, it works here the same way (usually). It takes cooperation between the legislative body and the executive for a bill to become law… except when Il Douche, the BlightBringer wants something done that is either unconstitutional, or he can’t get it through Congress, then he just signs an Executive Order.
