Donald Trump said “Our job is to make life more comfortable for the African-American parent who wants their kids to be able to safely walk the streets and walk to school.” On CNN, former Obama adviser Van Jones called it “despicable” and “shocking in its divisiveness.”
Oh… was Trump supposed to say “be driven through the streets and be chauffeured to school” so as to be inclusive of Obama’s kids?

A Trumpest in a teapot (TM).
Other than the shocking use of the pronoun ‘their” to refer to “parent,” I see nothing divisive about this quote. Perhaps Mr. Van Jones can point to the words, or even ideas, he finds shocking or divisive?
Certainly white parents want the same things, so that can’t be it.
Certainly black parents want the same things, so that can’t be it.
If Mr. Van Jones is implying that predominantly black neighborhoods don’t afford the opportunity Mr. Trump talks about, then he’s caught in the very act of implying an idea he decries as “divisive” for just being implied.
5 or 10 years ago there was a brouhaha between a few righty blogs about how conservatives needed to better watch what they say.
I was on the side that said that no matter what you say our fine media betters will bash you for it.
Totally agree.
Trump’s forte is that he knows he’s going to be p[H]illoried anyway, so why bother with weasel stances like a Bush, Romney, or Rubio?
This is easily interpretable. Someone I don’t like says something which may hurt my agenda therefore it has to be a racist comment. When all you got is the race hammer every problematical utterance is a racist nail.
“Nail” is black.
Thus, racist.
Just kidding!!
Wouldn’t it be great to hear one SJW ever say that?
