Let them go. But I would keep the imperial Valley and central California which is more conservative. If the coasters want to live off illegal [Oh, but they would then make it legal, wouldn’t they?] immigration and taxing movie stars and Silicon valley billionaires I say…let them.
It would be a big hassle with the stuff NASA (Jet Propulsion Lab, Dryden, Edwards AFB) and the DoD (Twenty-nine Palms, Edwards AFB, Vandenberg AFB, the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, etc. plus the tax money. It would probably still be a great relief; especially if they get to keep the Ninth Circuit Court.
The question then becomes would the other 49 states fight to keep California?
The plan would be to force it to be a county by county vote and allow the ones that want to remain stay in the union as California (or another name or names). Part 2 of the plan is to maintain control over any military base in the area as a foreign base ala Gitmo. If they object, then tell them that they will then have to repay the US for the cost of the base infrastructure and once paid off they may take control.
As for the tax money, I’d think that at worst we’d break even dumping all those leaches: both individuals and corporations.
Make Puerto Rico or Washington D.C. a state just so we don’t have to change the flag. Then, Good Riddance, Enjoy Hillary as your president, but don’t expect all those tax dodges you’ve been enjoying.

Coincidentally, 2 in 3 (of the people in this alleged “poll”) probably can’t spell secession or even know what it means but just let that go…
I’ll also bet that 2 in 3 have no idea when the Civil War was or who was in it or that it was the raaaaacist southern democrats that started it, let that go too.
