Monday Night Open Thread

I’ve shown a couple of those “Movies Explained For” videos. The language isn’t really family-friendly, but is bleeped, so…

Anyway, I didn’t plan on sharing any more of them, but this one came out recently, and absolutely nailed it. I actually saw this thing in a movie theater. Long story as to why, and I don’t go into it. But, I didn’t want to watch it because I didn’t think I’d enjoy it. I was right. And so was Jeb.

Now, it’s your turn. It’s Monday Night Open Thread, and you get to pick the topic.

  1. I am very grateful to you for exposing me to his takes on movies!

I expected it would only be enjoyable for movies one had seen, but found out it does entertain and inform for movies you haven’t seen, as well. (And perhaps reinforces why you’re glad you didn’t see them!)

  2. NFL Hall of Famer Doug Atkins, who wore number 81 and played defensive end for the Chicago Bears, was born May 8, 1930, in Humboldt, Tennessee. I first saw him play in person at Wrigley Field, where the Bears played their home games at the time, October 6, 1963, against the Baltimore Colts. He was one of nine future Hall of Famers on the field that day.
