Antifa is a perfect example of this. Black clad Communist thugs beating the s**t out of anyone who disagrees with them. Or is opposed to them.
Right now the Leftist Thugs main weapon is body odor. It has been proven in clinical trials to be more effective than mace. But that’s what bandanas are for, to cover the nose. All Preppers own hundreds of them as part of their survival gear.
