In 1980 ShopRite opened a grocery warehouse in Middletown, NY. It had a rail head that ran past the back of the building, with doors to permit unloading 4 rail cars at one time. It also had an internal rail bay that would accomodate 4 more cars in two pairs side by side. By 1990 they had filled in the internal rail bay for additional floor space. by 2000, they had stopped receiving rail loads altogether.In 2005, when their tax incentive package ran out, they sold the facility and moved to PA.
