Straight Line of the Day: Best holiday memories: …

As little ones, my siblings and I would get up in the wee hours to sneak into the living room to open the gifts Santa brought. We were pretty quiet so my parents wouldn’t hear us.
One year, Dad stayed up all night assembling bikes, trikes, and whatever else. Then about 5 am, his work done, he sat down in a chair holding his camera, thinking this would finally be the year he would get pictures of his kids opening their presents.
Unfortunately, he nodded off in the only year we actually slept until dawn. He woke up two hours later with the camera in his lap, and the room looked like a bomb hit it. Yep, we were quiet as usual, so we wouldn’t wake him up. Sadly, he never did get those pictures.
You guys have probably never heard of This Old Tony he does machinist videos on YouTube. He’s not a machinist but a talented amateur. He’s also very witty. Here’s the link to his Christmas Story which is very amusing you really don’t have to watch it you can just listen. The visuals are literally just his hands cleaning tools in the shop while he tells a story. About 15 minutes.
As for my own favorite Christmas memory, who can forget the first time he climed and toppled the Christmas tree? Of course I do it every year for the sake of nostalgia, but nothing matches the memory of that very first time.
#1. Got a 10 speed bicycle and a 24 count case of Twix candy bars. I was probably 13 or 14 years old.
#2. Whole family went to relatives out of town for Christmas. I had to work so I was going to join them later Christmas Eve. My car broke down about 80 miles from the relatives house so I got a tow home and spent Christmas Day alone. I played Desent (3D “doom” style PC game) and ate junk food all Christmas Day with a marathon of Christmas themed tv episodes playing behind me. I was probably 18 or 19.

Strange what sticks with you.
I remember my wife got me a bottle of Glenlivet for Christmas and the next thing I remember is it’s April.
