Zip to 1:44:45 for a minute or so of awesome dance.
Catch Fred Astaire now, because he’s never going to do it again.
A kind of cute foreshadowing of the famous mirror scene from Orsen Wells’ “Lady From Shanghai.” Not mirrors here, just identical babes in identical compartments. Still, that may be where he got the idea.
Oh, I forgot to mention: That’s exactly how I dance.
Like a dead Fred Astair?
Yuck!
I dance like I just don’t care
Like a dead Fred Astaire
I rock and reel and bop
My friends try to get me to stop
We can dance Esperanto
If we don’t nobody will
And if your friends blah blah, and if they don’t dance, well:
Put a bullet in Fredo’s kind
Funny, from the sign on the produce stand to the left, I believe it’s Kosher š
I always thought that there was something special about that place…
What I wouldn’t give for one of those cars!
Funky cold Medina.
Too bad Christians can’t go into that theater.
Those rascally roustabouts need to hitch-up them britches, Mac. That belt is way below their armpits.
I wouldn’t mind a trip or two to the cash store though.
I’ll take two bags full please, and I’ll see you again on Tuesday.
We can dance. Everybody look at your hands.
Such a silly song.
Such a silly time.
Glad I lived it!
There’s nothing like being a total jerk, dancing to this with a gal who’s a total jerk — just because of the beat. And then getting a cocktail together. Good times.
You said it. Silly time back then. It seems to me that the 70s were a terrible time, but the music was at its zenith. Then the 80s hit. The music was terrible, but the Reagan recovery from the Carter years made it an almost giddy time to be alive.
