I had an interesting interaction with a young nephew. We were talking about cultural changes, and he tossed off a comment, as an example, as if it were self-evident:
“It’s like how no one uses cash anymore.”
I said that I do, which was awkward, as he didn’t know how to react to me anymore. He didn’t understand me, and I didn’t understand his generation.
I just don’t want my credit or debit card info given to every gas station, McDonald’s, or hooker. Does that make me weird?

OCC Says 9 Big Banks Took Part In ‘Inappropriate’ Debanking Practices American Thinker | 12/12/25
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has released a report saying that the nine largest lenders in the U.S. made “inappropriate distinctions” that it used to restrict services among certain customers.
Following the signing of an executive order by President Donald Trump in August of this year, the OCC began reviewing all banks for any current or past practices that effectively barred customers on the basis of political or religious belief.
Wednesday, the OCC released its report, saying that it had found conclusive proof that nine large banks had policies that either refused services to some industries or required higher levels of scrutiny that exceeded the actual financial risks between 2020 and 2023.
According to Bloomberg, the banks involved are accused of restricting access to firms in numerous sectors, including oil and gas exploration, coal mining, firearms, private prisons, payday lending, tobacco and e-cigarette manufacturers, adult entertainment, political action committees and digital assets.
The OCC said that many of the banks had publicly disclosed their policies, which were often tied to environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals.
I just like the sound of the title. Details to be filled in later — perhaps.
Oh, and Kamala said she celebrated it in Canada when she was a kid.
Why Kamala Harris Is Being Accused of Lying Over Kwanzaa Post Townhall | 12/28/2020 | Leah Barkoukis
Vice president-elect Kamala Harris was accused of lying after posting a Kwanzaa message claiming that she and her family celebrated the holiday growing up, despite the fact that she was born two years before it was invented by a violent, deranged felon.
“You know, my sister and I, we grew up celebrating Kwanzaa,” she said in a video message. “Every year, our family would – and our extended family, we would gather around, across multiple generations, and we’d tell stories. The kids would sit on the carpet and the elders would sit in chairs, and we would light the candles, and of course, afterwards have a beautiful meal. And, of course, there was always the discussion of the seven principles. And my favorite, I have to tell you, was always the one about self-determination, kujichagulia.”
Biden:
“K . . . ku – jichagulag?”
“Let me tell you, man — Not a joke. We beat more kujichagulia and Medicare in my administration than Corn Pop beat Beau in a . . . well, anyway.”
In the exciting pre-title sequence of Goldfinger, Bond foils the plots of a heroin baron and blows up his operations with plastic explosives. Before leaving, Bond takes care of some unfinished business, to have a bath with Bonita. The excursion turns out to be a trap, as Bonita seduces Bond so that a henchman can knock him unconscious. Bond sees the reflection in Bonita’s eyes, and she gets knocked on the head while the henchman is electrocuted in the bath. “Shocking. Positively shocking” Bond remarks before leaving the room.
Sylvia Trench introduced herself in the opening scene of Dr. No as “Trench. Sylvia Trench”, which Bond then mimicked with his now trademark “Bond. James Bond”. Trench was Bond’s girlfriend for the first two films, with a running joke that Bond was called away on a mission just as things were heating up.

Match 2
Margaret Nolan (Dink) vs Lana Wood (Plenty O’Toole)
Margaret Nolan played the Golden Girl in the title sequence and the pre-release advertising for Goldfinger. However, the producers eventually choose Shirley Eaton to play Jill Masterson, and Nolan was given the much smaller role of the pool-side masseuse Dink. Dink is shown massaging Bond, but has to leave when Felix Leiter arrives for some “man’s talk.”
Plenty O’Toole was a gold digger from Las Vegas. She helped a man gamble at the craps table, but when he lost all of his money, she lost interest. She turned to leave, but went back after hearing James Bond ask for $10,000 in chips. She helped Bond play craps, and after winning $50,000, she went back to Bond’s suite. Bond girl Tiffany Case was waiting there for Bond, and some mobsters threw Plenty out of the window into the pool below.
