Saturday Night Open Thread

I’ve been to Stone Mountain Park recently.

Well, actually I haven’t. But maybe I have.

Yes, this is another one of those posts I write in advance. As I write this, I haven’t been to Stone Mountain Park. But, by the time you read this, I will have been.

Maybe.

I was supposed to go last weekend, but then something happened and it was put off for a week. So, now, maybe I’ve been. But I don’t know. If you’re reading this, then I am probably busy doing Stone Mountain stuff. Or other stuff that interfered.

Maybe I got hit by a bus. You never know.

Terminator the Second

I vaguely recall hearing about this project when it was initially announced back in 2013, and it sounded like an interesting concept.

Well, turns out the whole thing is now up at YouTube:

Whether you want to sit through all of it for the novelty and/or camp value, that’s up to you. I just kind of dipped in and out to get the flavor of it. Turns out how much you enjoy it depends a lot on how much Shakespeare you’ve read, because a good chunk of the fun is in recognizing the quote, which I pretty much didn’t for any of them.

Still, the other part of the fun is in figuring out how the Shakespeare gibberish actually translates to the original movie dialogue. So repeat-watchers of T2 still have a dog in the fight.

Anyway, be aware that it starts with a very long black screen during the opening narration. There’s (probably) nothing wrong with your YouTube connection.
