I listen to classical music regularly while driving. I spend 8-10 hours a week in my car, sometimes more, so I do get to listen to a lot of classical music. So, when I saw a post over at Harvey’s, I knew I had to challenge myself by watching and listening to the video. I didn’t get them all, but I did okay.
If you’re a fan of classical music, even a casual fan (everything you know you heard on Bugs Bunny cartoons), you might enjoy it. I did.
Now that we’ve had our classical music fix, what’s on your mind? Got something you want to share with the group? Now’s the time. It’s Sunday Night Open Thread.
Who wants to start?

Well, I really dig Roll Over Beethoven by Chuck Berry.
Can’t believe they skipped “In the Hall of the Mountain King”
By ELO?
Edvard Grieg, from his music to accompany Henrik Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt.
Classical music…OK here’s one of my favorites.
Mozart is the best! My favorite is the Clarinet Concerto, especially the 2nd movement. It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this.
Yes! It is a truly magnificent piece, even by the standards that Mozart sets.
Eleanor Rigby is the only song none of the Beatles play an instrument on.
It was their boy band phase.
The Beatles did not play any instruments on, “The Inner Light” and “Goodnight” as well.
I stand corrected.
I just have to post this one because if you’re any where near my age you will have heard parts of this piece used in cartoons and also a very famous western radio/TV show. Enjoy…
Here’s one more and again if you’re my age you’ll probably have heard a portion of this piece as it was used as a theme song for a radio/TV show. In this case for a certain Canadian Mountie, and it wasn’t Dudley Doright.
Sergeant Preston, right?
Roger that IJ.
John Logie Baird, one of the men who invented television, was born August 14, 1888. He’s probably spinning in his grave at the realization that he gave a platform to the likes of Keith Olbermann, Jerry Springer, Dan Rather, and Chris Matthews.
