Our little community used to have a tomato processing facility. Migrants passed through the area as they worked their way from crop to crop. Anyhow, I picked up a couple of guys who were apparently migrants, walking with groceries back toward the housing where the migrants lived during the season. One asked me “Did you find work today?” What a humbling question.
Yes, I found work. I find work everyday and I moan and groan about it. I had lost sight of what a blessing work is to someone with a family to feed. Something tells me it’s not guys like that who are storming our gates today.
Borders are sooo 20th century.
