Is President Trump Doing Management Wrong?

“The smartest person I know told me that the secret to business success does NOT necessarily involve hiring the right people.” ( Emphasis mine)
Unfortunately, Trump isn’t running a business.
When you throw a Muslim ban up against the wall to see if it will stick, without running it past the involved departments and proper legal channels, you are affecting a lot more lives than any business.
The way it was handled, plus the attacks on the “so-called” judge and “outrageous” decision, are, to use a phrase that’s been really popular around here, treating the Constitution like toilet paper.
Meh. Courts sorted it out. That’s their job. The system worked.
Nope, they messed up. Section 212(f) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) explicitly gives the President the power to block immigration from anywhere, by anyone, he so chooses by decree.
I stand corrected. My apologies.
I have only one question…how does a sovereign nation (we are a still a sovereign nation are we not?) NOT have the right to protect it’s borders??
We have a right, but we also have laws, policies, and procedures regarding immigration. People have a right to make plans based on those laws, policies, and procedures. If those are changed, those affected are entitled to some notice; or possibly compensation for losses incurred due to lack of notice. That’s “due process”, and it’s a court’s job to sort out what process is due and whether the government followed its own rules.
