It looks like it’d be sturdy enough. I don’t know enough about home construction to point out any drawbacks or flaws to this notion. Anyone else got anything?

  1. For what it’s worth, that’s someone’s idea of a pretty playhouse with very expensive, pre-cut lumber.

It won’t be so cute after:

    – the grass and weeds grow-up between the deck boards with no ground cover.
    – the walls rot because the water came through the ends of those cute wall blocks.
    – it sweats (rains) in the interior with no moisture barrier.
    – it swells during the rainy season, and shrinks and opens up during the dry season.
    – the window frames turn to mush with no flashing.
    – the particle board flooring and roof sheathing sag and absorb water.
    – the water doesn’t quite run off that shallow roof covered with tree needles.
    – you realize you wasted your money after all of this (and more) happens.

I could go on, but I sound like a curmudgeon. Seeing that beautiful lumber combined with cheap particle board flooring and sheathing was the biggest red flag. When sheathing a roof, one should always use the finest, exterior grade, structural plywood one can afford because 30-40 years from now, it’ll still be there in good shape. Ditto for subflooring.

Plumbing? Electrical? Heating/cooling? Doesn’t seem practical.
