Some of you may know this as the closing theme to Die Hard. And that’s okay. Die Hard is a Christmas movie, after all.

Vaughn Monroe took this to the top of the charts in late January, 1946, a month after Christmas. This is a live version from a couple of decades later.

  1. I’ve never seen Die Hard, so I can’t intelligently comment on its inclusion as a Christmas movie. However, My Favorite Things is not a Christmas song. Furthermore, Ben Hur is both a Christmas movie and an Easter movie., plus it has a really cool chariot race in it, so it’s superior to most other Christmas movies.

    The von Trapp grandchildren (descendants of Werner) expressing a sentiment many of us can embrace.
