Holy Crap!

Did you know there are 177 Republicans in the House? Supposedly, there are less Republicans in the House now after the last couple elections, but that seems like more Republicans than I remember hearing about in years.

  1. Yeah, 177 – but that’s a lotta mostly RINO’s.

So they voted NO on Obama’s crap sammich, but a lotta YES’s on Bush’s.

Maybe they’re listening to Rush and might grow a backbone after all.

However, the Senate Repub’s won’t vote no unanimously because they represent their states – and there’s a LOT of state bailout money in the bill.

  2. I’m rather proud of them (for the moment). But really, the dems have the numbers to make sure this sh*tburger gets served to us hot off the grill, whether the repubs roll over or not. Bold stands against government overreach are a lot easier when they are meaningless and strictly symbolic. Hopefully they’ll remain this feisty on other bills, and I’ll be able to rejoin their party.

  3. Well, I’m gonna call my democrat senator (who is conveniently up for re-election in 2010) and tell him that his constituents sure as hell don’t want this piece of crap bill passed.

Unless, wait — maybe the democrats’ plan is for us to go so far into debt, there’s no way we can pay it off. Then we’ll just say, “eff it; we’re America, and nobody out there is tough enough to make us pay it back. We don’t owe anybody anything now.”

Somehow though, I don’t see the democrats as having that much foresight, or having the stones to do that. I guess they’re all just idiots.

  4. what they are is not stupid or not too stupid. You get the idea. They know that BHO and Pelosi desparately want “bi-partisan” support so that when the next campaign rolls around the whole soon to be fiasco can’t be laid at their feet.

  5. It won’t matter! Barry hosted a cocktail party last night. I’m sure John McCain arrived early so as to adjust his knee pads to be fully functional so that Obama might be “serviced” early and often…

  6. For the first time in a long time I’m proud of the Republicans in the House. This vote was the first true “old school” conservative move they have made in quite a while. If they can return to the “small government, lower taxes for all” position (despite protests from Dems and the liberal media) they stand a chance to gain serious ground in 2010.

  7. These days there doesn’t seem to be a big difference between Liberals and Conservatives in Congress. I’m not sure how to feel about the number. If they don’t have the integrity to stand up for what’s right, what difference does it make.

“In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.”-John Adams

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”- John Adams

The more things change the more they stay the same.

  8. Exactly, #11: Like someone mentioned in another thread, bipartisanship when they are in charge of everything “is a trap!”

They want must be able to blame someone else when they eventually fail; it’s in their genes.

That’s 1 for y’all, Congressional R’s: keep up the good work.

P.S. Yeah, handing the Obots a Congressional majority of R’s next year would just be too sweet.

P.P.S. I really would not mind at all seeing Rush as the new RNC chair. I can’t think of anyone else with more solid conservative cred, plus it’s fun the way he’s already gotten under O-Guy’s skin.

  9. “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God —
having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with them.”
    II Timothy 3:1-5

177 Republicans and 11 Democrats earned another chance today.

Gideon saved Israel with 300 men.
Samson killed 1000 men with the jawbone of an ass.
Jesus fed a multitude with a picnic basket full of bread and fish.
    God hasn’t lost his touch.
I can hardly wait to see what He’ll do next.

    Listen, was that thunder?

  10. It occurred to me today that although loosing control of both houses of congress and the whitehouse seemed like a bad thing at the time, perhaps the Republicans who lost their seats in this election cycle were the ones who Should have lost their seats.
Their voters know who they were.
Look at the difference between the vote on the bank bailout bill (before the election) and this vote.
Their numbers are smaller, but their resolve has hardened.
Maybe they figure they’ve got nothing to loose.

“Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.”
    Leviticus 26:8

When God rescues the nation This time, everyone will know it was by His power and grace, not by any strength or cleverness of man.
If a fleet of pirates sailed up to DC and started raiding the Smithonian Institute, we’d rise up against them.
But This gang of pirates was Elected and they’re looting the treasury with no one to stop them.
Whether this is all just a prelude to the end-times, or whether America rises again from our ashes; either way God wins and we get to witness it.
We can’t persuade God to be on our side. We have to find out what God’s side is and Stay There!
As a parent, did you ever tell one of your kids, “Don’t wander off! Stay right here!”, and then they wandered off anyway?
I reckon God knows EXACTLY what that’s like!
I’m so glad he’s in charge and not me!

  11. Amen Brother 4 of 7, Amen

Liberals never learn from history, ever. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor the giant awoke and took terrible vengeance. Eventually real Americans will wake up and recognize these traitors for who and what they are. When that day comes I’m not sure I want to be around. It will be a “great and terrible” day, but one bought and paid for by the lies, obfuscations, omissions and out right deceptions of those who follow the father of all lies.

Never was better advice given than, “By their fruits shall ye know them”. True 2000 years ago, it is more true today.

  12. Amen!

    Joel 2:11
The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?

((But to end on an uplifting note…))

    Joel 2:12-13
‘Even now,” declares the LORD, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’
Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
