  1. I hope it’ll be a feature based on that day in history: 27 August 1972

    On that day the US conducted the heaviest bombing of North Vietnam during Operation Linebacker (NSFL: Not Safe For Liberals). Linebacker was launched after Nixon finally released operational air control to field commanders in May of 1972.

    It just took just a few months of unlimited bombing of North Vietnam to get them scurrying to peace talks in August. I’m no expert, but I’d say the war in Southeast Asia could have been successfully concluded long before 1972.

    Fun fact: Operation Linebacker saw the first use of precision guided munitions.
