Despite MSNBC’s Chris Matthews being very public about his support for Obama, the White House recently denied him an interview with the President.
Don’t know why. Whatever caused that thrill up his leg sure isn’t contagious anymore.

This picture is from this past Spring, but made news recently when the administration re-released it as a “tribute” to Neil Armstrong.
Lots of comments about not just Obama using an image of himself as a tribute to the late astronaut, but about the image itself. It just begs to be in a caption contest.
So, have at it.
Offer your best caption for this in the comments. And, hey, you may decide you want to use it as an entry in lolbama, too.
The winner gets … HIGH PRAISE.
Turns out that Marc Benioff, a national campaign co-chair for Obama 2012, donated $10,000 to Ryan’s political action committee.
Guess he figures if he’s going to give money, it should be to someone who’s mastered basic math.
Keln of Nuking Politics picked his favorite punchlines to “The Obama campaign just got some horrible news…“.

And now, a moment with Joe Biden.
BIDEN: …but, in all seriousness, I’ve always loved the Asian people. Not just the geishas either. No, seriously. But, you people should be proud. When I travel around to software companies like this, I see so many young Asians… I’ve talked to so many Asians I’m surprised I’m not fluent in Oriental by now, by God. But, I have a best buddy back home named Chin Lee. And, he’s such a great guy, God love ‘im. And, just the other day I ran into Chin over at the local Bob’s Big Boy, where I eat about once a week, and Chin says to me, “Joe, you’ve gotta keep these Republicans from destroying the economy. Under you and Barack, the economy has gotten so much better… ” and this is from an Asian guy, he knows math… “and if Romney and that other guy get in they’ll ruin everything.” And so, I told him, keep your chin up! No, seriously. Barack is gonna do everything he can to make sure you and your friends all do well, whether you work in computer software development or selling electronics in some inner-city storefront, we’ll make sure each of you can sell plenty of video games or knock-off electronics and can afford to have a nice, traditional duck on your plate for Christmas dinner. We’re gonna keep this thing going…
This has been a moment with Joe Biden.
You know one of the few accomplishments Obama has he likes to tout? He says he saved the auto industry — and all it took was his genius idea to throw billions of our tax dollars at it. The only thing is, GM may be headed for bankruptcy again. Between this and Solyndra, do you get the idea that Obama both has no respect for our tax dollars and has no clue about how business works? I’m kinda worried that even if we elect Romney, financially the country won’t last until next January with Obama at the helm. Maybe after November, we should drive Obama out into the middle of the woods and say, “Out in the forest there’s a smart economic conference for smart people.”
And Obama will say, “I don’t see it.”
And we’ll say, “It’s right through those trees. Just run out into the forest and you’ll find it. Paul Krugman will be there.”
And then he’ll scamper out into the forest and we’ll drive off, the national checkbook safe in the hands of Joe Biden who doesn’t know how to write checks.
You may be worried about Obama out there alone in the forest, but he’s convinced he’s smarter than everyone about everything so he should be fine.

Good solid blues-rock vibe, excellent production values in the video, and the lyrics seem to be more thoughtful and creative than you’ll typically find in this genre. I liked it a lot.
Some feminists are attacking the DNC for discriminating against single mothers by not allowing children on the convention floor or providing childcare. The DNC responded to these allegations by offering free abortions so they don’t have these problems at the next one.
Abortion: If there is any problem it doesn’t solve for a woman, then that’s a problem the Democrats don’t care about.
The Republican National Convention is starting today — probably. Anyway, this is the GOP’s chance to really get some attention when they lay out the facts. Thus, I thought I’d lay out some ideas of the sort of things I’d like to hear said in prime time speaking slots:
THINGS THAT SHOULD BE SAID AT THE RNC
“I remember back in the day you didn’t have to spend $5 trillion more in debt to get a failing economy.”
“Obama’s four years as president can be summed up in one word: Derp!”
“If you look at America now and think this is the result of being a good president who deserves reelection, you hate America.”
“In a just world, Obama would have to sit quietly while job creators lectured him and how he didn’t build anything.”
“I have a feeling that in Obama’s next memoir, there’s going to be this odd four-year gap.”
“Anyone who thinks Obama is competent for a black man is a stupid, bigoted racist who should be shunned from polite society.”
“It’s good Obama made his birth certificate public, because when I hear him talk about his thought on the economy and capitalism, I do need to keep glancing at it to remind myself that he is in fact an American.”
“This all rather pointless because the solutions to all our problems comes out next week.”
