8 Things That Should Be Said at the RNC

The Republican National Convention is starting today — probably. Anyway, this is the GOP’s chance to really get some attention when they lay out the facts. Thus, I thought I’d lay out some ideas of the sort of things I’d like to hear said in prime time speaking slots:

THINGS THAT SHOULD BE SAID AT THE RNC

“I remember back in the day you didn’t have to spend $5 trillion more in debt to get a failing economy.”

“Obama’s four years as president can be summed up in one word: Derp!”

“If you look at America now and think this is the result of being a good president who deserves reelection, you hate America.”

“In a just world, Obama would have to sit quietly while job creators lectured him and how he didn’t build anything.”

“I have a feeling that in Obama’s next memoir, there’s going to be this odd four-year gap.”

“Anyone who thinks Obama is competent for a black man is a stupid, bigoted racist who should be shunned from polite society.”

“It’s good Obama made his birth certificate public, because when I hear him talk about his thought on the economy and capitalism, I do need to keep glancing at it to remind myself that he is in fact an American.”

“This all rather pointless because the solutions to all our problems comes out next week.”

  1. They lied about the stimulus.
    They lied about green companies.
They claimed Romney was a felon and then lied about making the claim.
Their commercials make false claims about jobs lost and cancer or have women lie about being Republicans voting for Obama.
    Detect a pattern here?

  2. I’d add one more.

“it’s time someone stood up and called a spade a spade. The Democrat Party platform is communism. Make no mistake – that is what you’re voting for every time you vote for a Democrat. This election isn’t about being caught with unfortunate soundbites and nitpicking tax forms. This is about voting for the American way of life or communism “.

  3. No….just run an hour or 90 minutes of Reagan speaking…from his run in ’76 to the ’80 convention through his presidency…show that clip of him greeting Gorbachev in Rejkavik. No need to have it read to the people when there’s video enough to serve as more-than-adequate stemwinder and inspirational material.

  4. Given that the Romney people are, as we write, making all due efforts to read conservatives out of influential positions in the party…from the Rules Committee on down…all of this is highly unlikely to happen. We’ll see by 1400 Hrs EDT today.

  5. @7 Mrs. C:
…Or read some speeches from leaders who believed it was best for the people to live off a government which would create equity and take care of everyone in the same manner…Leaders like Mao, Hitler, Lenin, Castro, etc. Talk to every starry eyed hippy who joined a commune because when everyone is equal, everyone is happy. If you don’t see an eerie resemblence to what the Democrats are saying now, go ahead and vote for them again. (I would, however, suggest you sew your gold into the hem of a coat…just in case!)

  6. “Obama’s four years as president can be summed up in one word: Derp!”

I’m more of the opinion that the one word should be “Narf!”, with Obama in the role of Pinky. That would leave Uncle Choo Choo in the role of Brain, which would totally explain this maladministration.

  7. It’s a sickening thing to watch the p*$$ified moves of the RNC/Romney people, underscoring, yet again, that conservatives are seen as little more that “field negroes” in the eyes of the effete, establishment Republicans.

  8. It’s a sickening thing to watch the p*$$ified moves of the RNC/Romney people, underscoring, yet again, that conservatives are seen as little more than “field negroes” in the eyes of the effete, establishment Republicans. (typo corrected)

  9. I’d like to see every speaker just get on the stage and say “Wow, the economy really sucks. Unemployment has been around 8% for 4 whole years,” over and over and over again. Then if the news wants to show any coverage at all of the convention, they have to play that on national TV. Give them no other distractions.

  10. From all appearances, the RNC/Romney faction has effectively marginalized the Tea Party/grassroots. Splendid. This will be one vote cast against the incumbent rather than for our candidate. This is one political “field negro” who will no longer toil on the Pachydermal plantation for the derisive, exploitative and unappreciative “massahs”.

Romney has shown his colors, folks…his banner is that of “Obama Lite”. (spits in disgust.)

  11. THINGS THAT SHOULD BE SAID AT THE RNC?

One of them should be a deafening Bronx Cheer for the efforts made by the RNC/Romney faction at centralizing power at the top and for flipping the bird at the Tea Partiers.

    D@mned hypocrites.

  12. Whaaaaa? I’ve been moderated?

I guess some eyes are too tender for the bracing sentiments of Tha Auld Bunkster…it’s not like I was being the Curtis LeMay of carpetbombed expletives.

That, or it’s the d@mned Celtiphobia!

  13. Look, I know this is self-serving and downright egotistical, but still, if anyone speaking at the convention cares to crib from
my speech that Harvey was kind enough to post back in May, I’d be downright flattered.

Even unattributed. Heck, they can steal it outright for all I care – I just want to help!
