George Gershwin, one of the men who gave us the great American songbook, was born September 26, 1898. He died far too young of a brain tumor July 11, 1937. Here’s the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald singing his song “Loved Walked In”. It’s one of his lesser-known songs, but it’s a particular favorite of mine.
