I had heard that the original name of The Beverly Hillbillies was going to be The Hillbillies of Beverly Hills. Now, I have proof of that. This is the original pilot episode of the show. This isn’t the first episode that aired. This was a pilot to sell the show. This was slightly edited and became the bulk of the first episode.

What’s impressive to me is that all the actors in that episode were the same ones used in the series. So many test episodes and pilots have actors that were changed or simply “vanished” when the actual series started. One thing I’m glad they changed was the over-the-too laugh track in this episode.
