Hi gang I fear I must start with a bit of confession. I got a late call for golf tomorrow and, as we are playing in Connecticut, I do not have the time to put together the usual Hootenanny.
But dreadnought music fans I still have a treat. A musical! Not your ordinary one though. Nosiree Bob’s yer Uncle! This one is based on H.G. Well’s The War of the Worlds. Hope you recognize the narrator.
We will resume our regular Hootenannying next week.

I first heard this album in 1978 and have loved it ever since.
Same here. Had the album on vinyl and CD.
Greatest sad song, Forever Autumn, sung by Justin Hayward, starts around 31:28.
I even saw a Laserium performance of the album at a San Jose planetarium in the early ’80s. At one point, narrator Richard Burton says, “I looked up enviously at those safely on board – straight into the eyes of my beloved Carrie!” And the audience giggled when they projected a photo of Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia.
I too heard it when i was 8 — I was so excited the day I found a copy on CD at Tower records.. my vinyl being a bit…worn
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if we shoot all the golfers, they’re going to lock us up and throw away the key…
If you shoot ALL the golfers there will be no more Hootenannies.
GOphers! Ya great git! The little brown…. furry rodents!
This is sort of musical, sort of….. https://genesiustimes.com/ozzy-osbourne-hired-to-interpret-joe-bidens-speeches/
I remember when that album came out. Don’t know what happened to my copy. Must have gotten lost or left behind. I have since downloaded it.
My dad had this album on vinyl. Always creeped me out.
