Thursday Night Open Thread

Frank Zappa was one of those artists that I didn’t dislike, but never really got heavy into. I recognize his talent and intelligence, but I never could get all that into the music. Trying to listen to an entire album was just Zappa overload.

Small doses, fine. Large doses, I couldn’t really deal.

Berklee (or is it Berkeley?): Way to blather, wince, repeat:

College in Boston Apologizes for Letting Police Officers Use Its Bathrooms
Fox News | June 11 2020 | Greg Norman

Boston’s Berklee College of Music is now apologizing for “perpetuating feelings of oppression, silencing, and marginalization” by allowing the city’s police officers to use its bathrooms.

The school’s public safety department, in a Facebook post, said Boston Police have been staging officers near the institution since a May 31 demonstration in memory of George Floyd. This past Sunday, officials let the cops use the Berklee Performance Center’s restrooms after an informal decision was “made on the spot.”

“We have heard from many of you personally and across social channels of your hurt and anger that this access was permitted, especially as the facility is not currently open for students and members of our community,” the statement read. “Allowing police officers into the space was in no way meant to undermine Berklee’s support for Black Lives Matter.

To economize on further thought, they can provide millions of handouts that read:

“________________________________ (fill in blank) was in no way meant to undermine Berklee’s support for Black Lives Matter.”

Or, just millions of handouts.

Goofus and Gallant

When spamming, Goofus throws anything against the wall to see if it’ll stick:

I do believe this is our first overseas interview!  From your biography we see your first university degree is actually in architecture.  How did you segue into the visual arts?

Whereas Gallant tries to give a nice compliment, before completely running out of steam:

This post gives clear idea designed for the new users of blogging, that really how to do running a

A pair of new security threats to Intel-based computer systems have been revealed. The beleaguered semiconductor chip manufacturer has faced a seemingly endless series of vulnerabilities over the past two years.

Although no known attacks have occurred, two teams of researchers have confirmed vulnerabilities in what is supposed to be the safest neighborhood within Intel processor architecture.
