It’s not just monkeys with Coronavirus that are a threat. There are Herpesmonkeys in Florida.
We mentioned the other day about U.K. “scientists” infecting monkeys with Coronavirus. But a little closer to home, there are monkeys with herpes in Florida.
Tracy Fenn, Assistant Curator of Mammals at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, (said):
“These monkeys were never domesticated animals, they’re a wild species,” Fenn said. “They’re very common in research laboratories and tourist attractions which is of course where this population originated in Florida.”
The story of the rhesus macaque in northern portions of Florida beings at Silver Springs State Park near Ocala. If you’re like me and grew up near Ocala, there is no doubt you have heard the rumor that these monkeys were left behind after the filming of the movie Tarzan the Ape Man in the early 1930s.
And herpes is widespread in these monkeys. And my comment about them being closer to home? Yeah, Jacksonville is 100 miles from the house.
People should be more concerned about disease-carrying monkeys, but they aren’t. Probably because they see screaming, poo-flinging, disease-carrying animals on the TV every Democrat debate. So, when monkeys do the same thing, they don’t get worked up.
But, the deal is that we need to be concerned about them. They need to be rounded up and kept away from people. And we need to deal with the monkeys too.
Up here in Alaska we don’t have much of a monkey problem. Democrats, yes we have those, I guess they’re pretty much everywhere…but no monkeys. We do however make up for our lack of monkeys with an overabundance of bears. We got black bears, brown bears, polar bears. Take your pick. While they don’t fling poo they will attack and eat you if they get the opportunity, but at least they don’t have herpes.
If someone catches an STD from a bear, I sure don’t want to hear the details of how it happened.
I suppose when it comes to grizzly bears, how would you get close enough to check?
