Ok, people, get over yourselves. I am SO. SICK. of everyone playing the 9/11 blame game. I mean, I’m all about giving credit where credit is due. Jimmy Carter is a moron and really screwed things up way back when and made us look like a bunch of sissies during the whole Iran hostage crisis, not to mention all those hostages whose lives he didn’t help to make any better.
Then we got Bubba Cantfindmypants in here who ignored attack after attack until he finally kinda made a halfpinkytoe attempt at shoving a cruise missile up Osama’s booty for whatever reason. Honestly, I don’t care why. It’s good he at least got close to toasting OBL’s unmentionables, ok? Shut up and listen before you yell at me. If Osama got a singed eyebrow out of it, it makes me smile to think of it. Clinton screwed the pooch big time and should have done more, YES, but he did lift a pinky for at least 5 minutes during his 8 years in office. I’m glad Chris Wallace asked the question, I’m glad he did the interview, I think he showed Slick for what he is, a big crybaby buffoon whom history will not treat with grace.
Which brings us to President Bush. Can he shoulder some blame? Heck yeah. He was in office for 8 months before 9/11 and as president should have been able to read about world events and know that we had been attacked over the previous 25 years a number of times. Did Clinton give him a comprehensive plan? Honestly, it doesn’t matter. Bush should have had his own comprehensive plan for fighting terrorism. He was already THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. He had a cabinet. He had a whole group of advisors. He had a whole staff of kids working 16 hours a day reading news and intelligence reports, telling him the latest about what was going on, and what he, as president, should be focused on. As a matter of fact, before he ever made it into office, Bush should have known what was going on. He should have had his own plan before he was elected. Isn’t that our biggest complaint about the Democrats? They all harp during their campaigns about having a plan for fighting the war and combating terrorism, but they don’t actually have one. Well, any candidate should know what he’s getting into and know how he’s going to handle it. And the fact that Bush is a Republican doesn’t change anything. It’s not like the Republicans are conservative anymore anyway, so if you’re offended by me needing Republicans to have a plan, well I’m just so sorry.
The point is Clinton didn’t get it done. Bush didn’t get it done. And this stupid media patty-cake they’re playing right now with the “Yes I gave him a plan” and the “My husband rawks!” and the “You’re the devil and caused 9/11 on your own!” and the “You should have done more!” is ridiculous. They all should have done more. Both administrations, people. Everyone in Congress should have taken it upon themselves to make terrorism the front issue and beat down the Presidents’ door (Clinton, Bush) until we were fighting offense, before it was too late. Everyone in America who was old enough to follow the news and world events? All of us should have been able to read. Were you writing to your congressmen? Your senators? The president? Me neither. I was living in the sweet bubble of American freedom that no one would ever dare destroy, and nobody could thwart my false reality that America was invincible. Oh, come on! I only knew the names of certain senators because I had to know for my Business Problems and Trends class! I had nooo interest in news and politics.
But it’s already too late for 9/11, and still we’re talking about how we could have prevented 9/11. It’s tiresome, juvenile, and antiproductive. Unless we’re doing the exercise for the purpose of preventing the next attack, which most people are not. And don’t think my finger is mainly pointing at the left. I’m thinking about all the big shooters on the right, too. Get the hell over yourselves. This party positioning crap? Worthless. No one can convince me that proving that Bill Clinton could have stopped 9/11 is going to stop the next attack, or that proving Bill Clinton could have stopped 9/11 means that John Kerry will be just as bad at stopping terror att– Ok, I’m sorry, I can’t complete that thought with a straight face. But you know what? There may be a decent, America-loving Democrat out there who has the nation’s best interests at heart and truly wants to defend this country. I mean, I haven’t heard of him, but if he’s out there, and if he has a plan for fighting terrorism, I’m ready to vote for him if I agree with him on the other issues too and if he’s the least sucky candidate out there (my hopes aren’t high for having a great candidate, can you tell?). But it won’t be because someone can prove to me that George Bush caused 9/11! Dangit, people! It will be because you have your own stinking head out of your butt and are willing to FIGHT THE TERRORISTS rather than SAYING MEET ME AT 3:00 IN THE PARKING LOT SO WE CAN HAVE A SHOUTING MATCH! SOMEONE PUT UP YOUR STINKING DUKES AND PUNCH SOMEONE ALREADY!
Because while everyone is saying I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I, everyone seems to be ignoring the important stuff for the future.
bin Laden is supposed to release a new tape soon. There have been a few murmurs of this recently, but I have no idea why this doesn’t get more mainstream press. OH YEAH! The mainstream press are too busy fawning all over President Ahmadinejad from Iran (he’s so attractive and sweet, yah) and playing “Blame Bush” to pay attention to this one. So what’s important about this tape? Eh, read this article about “Jafer the Pilot”, and you decide. They say Osama has completed his “cycle of warnings” that he’s required to give to Muslims. Because you know, OBL is concerned about ticking off the clerics and the gentle Muslim leaders. OBL has warned all Muslims to leave America as soon as possible, especially D.C. and New York… And Jafer the Pilot is running about with his possible nuclear materials within the U.S. borders (hmm, how did he get in?). Not only that, President Ahmadinejad, while speaking about diplomacy at the U.N., gives speeches in his own country about killing the Great Satan (that’s us) and the Little Satan (that’s our friend Israel) within the next two years. So maybe instead of squealing like pigs about who didn’t do what, maybe everyone could focus on what we need to do to stop the impending threat of Iran, foreign and homegrown terrorism, and let’s not forget our gassy enemy to the south, Hugo Chavez.
I mean, I realize this is an election year. So quit telling me how Bush and Clinton screwed up. They’re not running for office, numbnuts!
I’m not saying ignore the past. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THE PAST. But in light of the past, use it to prevent the same thing happening in the future. Stop acting like a bunch of 7th grade girls and act like Americans!

Pass the humble pie, please.
Brilliant. I am in complete agreeance with you, Sarah.
Spot on SarahK.
Excelent article, Sarah! Yeah, I gripe a lot about Commie Bill and his administration, and I don’t think I’ll get much of an argument about his administration being useless. I’ve been supporting Bush as best I can, but what’s happened to the conservitives? I fully supported the war on terrorism, but where is the war? Whay hasn’t Bush stepped in with the Pendelton 8 (8 brave Marines charged with murder, when the charges come from no one but insugency supporters)? All these boys were guily of was doing their jobs, and now they are treated with less dignaty than the terrorists at Gitmo! The fact is, any time a hard issue comes up, the Bush administration is likened to “Where’s Waldo.” I’ll give the Bush administration the benifit of the doubt over the fact that there have been no major attacks on American soil since 9/11 (only minor ones, but the perps are Middle Eastern, so the mianstream media tries to divert attention away from them). What’s happened to the Golden age of Reagan conservitism? Walk softly and carry a big stick. Remember Kadafi? For those of you who don’t the minuit Kadafi started mouthing off, Reagan took care of it swiftly and decisively. That’s why we haven’t heard a peep out of him since. Now we have a war on terror, but it’s a P.C. war, and evidently, no one learned from Vietnam that wars don’t work when 1)they are fought P.C., and 2) the war is controled by politicians instead of the military.
The problem we are facing now is that the majority of Republicans have turned into Democrats, and the Democrats have turned into lunitics. The Democrats have severed into sub-parties like the Green party who consider the mainstream Democrats to be not insane enough, but we don’t have any party that seems to charge the Republicans with being the moderates they really are? Where is a true conseritive to turn? Who’s going to put the Middle East in it’s place, seal our boarders, retract NAFTA and do what needs to be done to preserve our way of life? Certainly not anyone who’s claimed to run for office in the next election.
Keep it up, Sarah! We need sober, refreshing voices like yourself!
You’ve read my mind, ma’am. I couldn’t care less at this point about who did or didn’t do or forgot to do or was supposed to do whatever it was people are bitching about right now. That’s the past, this is now, and the future is coming for us. Learn from the past and move on.
Billy boy is a dead horse and Bush isn’t running for re-election, so let’s focus on those who are running and deal with them as individuals. Everything else is smoke and mirrors.
Amen!
Uh oh, looks likes somebody started thinking for themselves! Bad Sarahk, toe the party line! Really, that was excelent. I wish more people would use such an objective worldview when examining the events around them
I Love you sarahk, will you merry me?
(mumble…) Damn you Frank J, beat me to the punch again…
Thank you for sounding off, you need to do it more often.

You can find the proper solution to all of this here: http://usnutts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4
Well said. It seems that too many people don’t care unfortunately. If they are entertained by events, they are entertained by events. Even though an event is horrible, it seems that they partially hope it gets worse just to see what happens and partially know that they really should not want something bad to happen.
Look at how entertaining katrina was for some people.
I realize that there’s some serious stuff going on in the world right now, but I come here for the “lighter” side of life.
If this site is going to turn into just another “political rant” blog (which it seems to be doing, lately) I’ll have to go somewhere else for my humor. I can get my politics nearly everywhere else.
Bring back the humor…please?
Thanks.
Well Said!!!!!!!!
(Insert clappy smiley face here)
Geez Frank, smart AND pretty AND likes guns?!?!?!? Lucky, lucky man….
Wow. That was great!
And spooky because I said something similar today when talking to this conservative guy at my work. We agreed Clintoon could have done a better job if he hadn’t lost his temper and turned into a moonbat on TV, but then I said while I thought he should have reacted to some things more strongly while President, really this is a democracy and we the people were not exactly putting terrorism forward as a big concern either. We the people could have made a fuss about his non-reaction and weak reactions but we didn’t did we?
We should learn from the past – in that sense what was and wasn’t done and how it led to 9-11 is crucial. But this “let’s blame Clintoon and revel in his shame” bit is dumb.
I was watching TV that morning and saw the towers fall, and a part of me couldn’t believe it. It was so horrible it was like a movie. I think a lot of us were living in that bubble of ficticious security. OBL burst that bubble and now much of the population wants to forget it ever happened. They want to crawl back into the hole, pretend the world can be made a nice place by wishing it so.
We the people need to keep the pressure on the politians, remind them that most of us haven’t forgotten, that we do care, that we will support them when the hard decisions have to be made. I’m scared too SarahK, I think we will get hit again. Our enemies have listened to the LLLs for five years and regained their confidence.
Frank, you are a lucky man! She’s pretty, likes guns and she thinks right! Very good Sarah!!!
That was not upbeat!! Well put and well said. Thank you for showing us that pretty t-shirt babes with guns can think too!!
Good job and I’m looking foward to your next post.
Frank must be beaming with pride. Lucky bastid.
C’mon SarahK, it was the Jooos fault and you know it.
According to the JAWA REPORT, Jafer te Pilot was spotted by a reader last week in Austin, Tx.
You go girl.
Maybe you should make copies of that and send it to the President, former President, and some people in the House and Senate.
long’s whoever runs this country don’t use Terrorism as yet another excuse to mess with our God-Given Rights, I’m all fer SarahK’s rant. I’m kinda gettin sick o’ that. Seems to me everytime the Gov’t gets worked up ’bout something, we the people have to give up a little bit of our Freedom in the name of “Safety”… I say Terrorism isn’t our biggest problem. Apathy and “sheepness” is. When American citizens once again become the Sheepdogs they once were, we won’t have to worry about terrorism.
…
I really need to get my own blog….
I may be in the minority here, but I think 9/11 was/is the terrorist’s fault.
Just like a Spacemonkey to earthlings…
…blame earthlings…er, ahem. Never mind.
Like everyone says to Glenn Beck… “I get it!” 🙂
I totally agree with you Sarah… everyone keeps playing politics and pointing fingers and I just want to punch ’em all in the nads. 🙂
Thank you, Sarah, because we need mroe people on both sides of the aisle willing to say this.
Fighting the war on terror is not about right and left, it’s about right and wrong!
I am ready, willing and able to vote for a Dem who is willing to be intellectually honest about what we face. Here in Virginia, Jim Webb is not one. He’s an anti-war pacificist and the fact that he served under Reagan doesn’t give him and gravitas when he’s swinging to appease, cut and run.
Were I in Connecticut right now, hell YES I would vote for Joe Lieberman! He’s about as liberal as they come, and that I can’t stand. He also has a whiney voice that makes my skin crawl. If it weren’t for his brief foray into national politics, I would say that at least he always says what he means and means what he says.
2000 was a mistake for Joe. If he had stayed off Gore’s ticket, he wouldn’t have had to stop speaking his mind to further his political career. However, I think Joe learned his lesson. He could have turned against Bush a year ago and assured himself a coast through this election, but he stood his ground and spoke his mind.
I would rather have a government run by Dems who are honest about what they believe than lying Republicans, which is what we have now.
Nice Rant
I think pre- Path to 9/11 everyone was invested in the very gentlemanly “plenty of blame to go around so dont blame anyone.” That was clear from the final 9/11 commish report on down. What the Path to 9/11 did was turn that around to blame everyone- the other side of the same coin. For all the Clinton durm and strang about the movie, the Bushies got ripped up pretty well in that flick also- a fact often left out.
I get tired of the world view that you either show no warts on anyone or only Bush admin warts but don’t dare say anything about you know who.
You ROCK! I have so been on the same page of late…
