I for one welcome our new Obama overlord. I’d like to remind him that as a trusted blog personality, I could be helpful in rounding up others to give him tax money and be punished for improper use of free speech.
To explain how things will be so much better now that Obama is president, here is Keith Olbermann:
Here is my idea for the Obama Salute: Stand at attention with the right arm fully extended as in the Roman (Hitler) Salute, with middle, ring, and pinky fingers straight and with the thumb and forefinger forming an “O.” Then, slowly close the “o,” bring the hand to the face, and kiss the place where the “o” orifice had been.
That’s the most reasoned comment from Olbermann’s lips since … okay, I don’t know when; I’ve only been alive since the Eisenhower administration.
Clearly you’re the reason why white can’t seem to embrace what is right. Racist cracker.
With a pain in my chest, a lump in my throat and a tear down my cheek I paraphrase Mrs. Obama;
This is the first time in my adult life that I am not proud of my country.
Bush lied, people died.Obama lied, his speech sucked. That video never gets old.
I put my speaking to my work computer and played it and I think my whole department heard it I didn’t realize it’d be that loud. That’s hilarious.
Best running gag EVER.
RE: #3
I get your sarcasm, but I need to weigh in concerning the Reverend Lowery’s comments.
There have always been white people who have “embraced what was right” (which is why this country’s founding was a blessing of divine providence).
These people would include, but are not limited to:
— any white Founding Fathers who considered slavery abhorrent
— all whites who sought to abolish it at any time prior to 1861
— the hundreds of thousands of white Union casualties that occurred during the War Between the States
— white Republican President Abe Lincoln
— white Southerners who considered slavery abhorrent
— all white citizens and legislators who voted to pass the XIIIth Amendment
— all white citizens and legislators who voted to do away with Jim Crow laws, and voted to establish equal rights under the law.
Slavery, racism and prejudice didn’t start in America. Besides, it’s not 1953 anymore. (Of course to admit that would put a lot pf race baiting poverty pimps out of work). Can you imagine Jesse Jackson having to get a real job???
As a person who has been a big supporter myself of our new Master, I too shall remain available to make sure All our citizens are fully on-board and if not I can be countedon to reort such lack ofhope and change
Good list #9, don’t forget all the average white Joes and Janes who marched on Washington and Selma.
Or BHO’s white relatives who raised him when his black father abandoned the family.
Aww, Jeez,
I’d like to add a witty comment, but
I just can’t click on that Olby clip.
Can’t . Do. It.
No I Can’t.
I’m allergic to stupidity, so Oldman makes me sneeze and my nose run and then I feel like I might just vomit. (TMI, I realize) Poor Dr. King, I’ll bet he and Jesus are simply speechless over what has been done in their names.
One could forgive those in the past, they really didn’t have the knowledge that we do today and still we can’t get it right.
I really think that when God decided to create the Universe Mrs. God should have suggested they go dancing, bowling, play a board game or watch a little TV. It would have been a much better use of his time.
No matter how many times ya bring up Overbite’s eloquence Frank… I still laugh my ass off at it everytime.
Rightjabs,
You are only partly correct. there are those (my own ancestors) who freed their slaves many years before 1861. They still fought honorably for the Confederacy on the principal of States Rights.
It would be refreshing if schools would actually teach that the Civil War was not about Slavery (per se) but about states rights. The Slavery Issue was the Abortion issue of it’s time. While important, it was not the only issue of note.
If you look at it another way, it is the Irish Question for the United States. Every civilization has had this type of issue, even African ones. Who do you suppose sold their captives to the Dutch in the first place?
And where is slavery still being practiced today? Kind of makes one say hmmmmmmmm.
That was so funny I just puked
