Because we have to have some way to buy votes. They take from those who earn, and give to those who don’t.
THat’s why I think the only fair tax is per person fixed fee. Every year you’re given a bill. It’s the same for everyone. If you can’t pay it you either go to prison (that’s what we do to people now), or you can sell your right to vote to a person or group. They pay your taxes, they get your vote.
As long as people can vote without paying, we’ll wind up where we are now: the people who work for money are outnumbered by the people who vote for money.
