  1. The fact that they had to endure four years on a college or university campus before reaching the NFL (you’ll notice that I didn’t say anything about passing classes or even attending them).

    New Coke – they like theirs in the white, powdered form.

    The rising price of steroids.

  2. I wasn’t paying attention… what were those kneeling football players protesting?

    the lack of any knowledge or ability to rationally view the world exhibited by people who attended college..

    People kneeling, oh wait, that was in regards to Tim Tebow.

    not enough air time for their TD celebrations.

    the cancellation of Firefly.

    not sure but thankfully the Baseball playoff season starts next week so who cares.

    no protest, just practicing their victory formation snap.

    Bernie Sanders not given a fair chance at the nomination by the DNC.

    • not sure but thankfully the Baseball playoff season starts next week so who cares.

      Yes! A sport that has a minor-league system so it doesn’t use American colleges and universities as such, a sport that addressed its steroids problem, a sport that doesn’t feature one of its players getting arrested on a weekly basis, a sport whose athletes aren’t brain-damaged . . .

      • Keep an eye on the emerging College Basketball scandal. The NBA feeder system may be dead and if what they say is true I can’t imagine that it won’t eventually affect college football as well.

        Oh, and some baseball players are brain damaged, it is just from natural causes.

  3. I wasn’t paying attention… what were those kneeling football players protesting?

    It actually wasn’t so much protesting as it was pavlovian programming. The players, and most of those who support the players, are being programmed to do President Trump’s bidding….. case in point: Trump just tricked a whole bunch of people who oppose him into kneeling before him.

  4. … lyrics like:

    “The best things in life are free;
    You can get them if you vote Bernie
    Now give me my knee
    That’s what I want . . .
    My knee don’t get everything, it’s true;
    What it don’t get, I can’t use . . .”

    Or:

    “You don’t realize how much I kneed you
    The View all the time, and never leave you.
    Please come on back and see
    Just what you mean to me —
    I kneed you.”

    Or (Trigger Warning! Contains a word Obama proved he literally can’t spell!):

    “What you want,
    Babies, I got;
    What you kneed
    You know I got it:
    R-E-S-P-E-C-T
    Find out what it means to me;
    (Soccer to me, soccer to me, soccer to me, soccer to me . . . )”

  5. I wasn’t paying attention… what were those kneeling football players protesting?

    …That dog fighting is still illegal.

    …Protesting that people can actually protest the protesters protesting.

    …Hurricanes, earthquakes and wild-fires.

    …That Marcia didn’t get a settlement for the football injury she sustained.

    …They were protesting the booing fans.
