I’ve never actually seen an episode, but I know that Mark Hamill voices the Joker, and I’ve seen Batman: Under the Red Hood, so I assume the cartoon series is awesome.

I enjoyed it as a kid, though it is more of a nostalgia thing than a “go see it yourself” thing.
The real benefit it brought was the shared universe with Superman & The Justice League, later.
You HAVE to see the animated series. Check out the IMDB cast page and see how many names you recognize. And the episode “The Gray Ghost” would have made a better movie than ANYTHING they’ve put on screen so far (though the original Nolan/Bale movie is close). And that whole, “one voice for Bruce Wayne, a different voice for Batman’ thing, STARTED with Kevin Conroy.
“…so I assume the cartoon series is awesome.”
You are correct. It’s the best “standard” Batman ever brought to TV or movies, including Hamill as the Joker (the Harlequin of Hate).
The Heath Ledger version of the Joker was fantastic but the characterization was anarchist rather than murdering hateball.
Batman TAS is also where Harley Quinn was created.
If nothing else you HAVE to see an episode or two with the Joker, then hit YouTube and listen to Mark Hamill reading a couple of Mr. Trump’s tweets with the Joker voice. Like or hate Mr. Trump, but some of his tweets are extremely sarcastic and snide, and Mr. Hamill’s Joker voice is perfect for them.
