I love history. I’ve been stymied when doing some genealogy research when I hit 1890. Not always, though, as I have found some records from that census that. I’ve been lucky that way, but only on some records. Many are simply missing.
If you have done genealogy research, you know about the issue with the 1890 census.
Do you have something you’d like to share? A link? A joke? Some words of wisdom? A topic to discuss? It’s Monday Night Open Thread.
What’s on your mind?

Maybe a large number of people started feeling that the census questions were too invasive and that the government did not need to know your name, your age, or what gender you self-identify as to build you a road or represent you in Congress and stopped providing answers to the invasive questions. Maybe there were concerns that this private information would one day end up in a geneology database and isn’t as private as the government would have you believe.
I’m sure if it was really important the feds could just get all the info they need and more by looking at everyone’s Socialist Media accounts.
