Is “Die Hard” a Christmas movie?

Finally got my wife to watch Die Hard this Christmas Eve. She enjoyed it (unexpectedly) and said, “I don’t see the controversy, of course it’s a Christmas movie!”
It could be a western…. Yippie-ki-yay MFer. John Wayne was mentioned and Roy Rodgers name was inferred.
“Now I have a gun too! Ho Ho Ho.”
That by itself makes it a Christmas movie.
I sent a text message yesterday to mock CNN. Sadly, very few of the recipients got it.
“CNN Breaking News: Shots fired at Nakatomi Plaza. Details at 11.”
Any suggestions as to how to reword this so the unwashed will get it next year? Maybe add “Paging John McClane”? “Bruce Willis comes out of retirement”?
