Frank Discussions: Dr. Bob Bowman

Democrat Dr. Bob Bowman, a Vietnam combat veteran, is running in my district, Florida District 15, for Congress against Republican Rep. Dave Weldon who has served at the Space Coast’s representative since 1994. Dave Weldon won his last reelection with 65% of the vote and seems to not be expecting much of challenge, but recent event have shaken things up, including the scandal involving another Florida Congressman, Mark Foley.
Dr. Bob Bowman recently got a bit of notice in the blogosphere for his views on government complicity in 9/11, and I decided to request an interview. He accepted, and I sent him some questions through e-mail. A request for an interview with Rep. Dave Weldon was unanswered by his campaign staff.
Here’s the interview:
Q. You state that there is mounting evidence of the U.S. government’s complicity in 9/11. What do you think is the most compelling evidence of this?
A. Lack of intercept and the fall of WTC 7.
Q. You’ve said before that you think Vice President Dick Cheney is a key suspect as the architect of the 9/11 attack. What do you think he had to gain?
A. I said (in an answer to a hypothetical question) that IF someone in our government was involved, the key suspect would be Cheney because of his role in running the exercises which masked the “hijacked” airliners. He, along with Wolfowitz, Libby, Perle, Feith, Rumsfeld, etc., put forth the PNAC document which planned the occupation of Iraq in 2000. They saw Iraq as key to military control of the entire Middle East and perhaps ten trillion dollars worth of oil and gas. Cheney has already gained many millions through his Halliburton stock options from the Iraq War justified by 9/11.
Q. One position you’ve written on your website is that, if the CIA cannot be reformed, it should be abolished. Don’t you think that will be a tough sell with terrorism still an important issue to many Americans?
A. We would not be the target of terrorists if we didn’t have a foreign policy which uses military power to subdue third world countries so our multinational corporations can steal their resources. The intelligence analysts at the CIA are actually quite good. They were right in saying that Iraq was no threat and had no weapons of mass destruction. They were not listened to. But the “dirty tricks” side of the CIA has been responsible for millions of deaths. Yes, it will be a hard sell because so many Americans have swallowed the phony War on Terror. I propose it because it’s right, not because it’s easy.
Q. I had never heard about video games being used to decondition recruits from a reluctance to kill. Are these regular video games being commercially sold or special training simulators made by the military?
At first they were all regular commercial video games. I think the military has made some of their own now.
Q. When you refer to the “rape of Yugoslavia” on your campaign site, what do you mean?
The dismantling of Yugoslavia ordered by George H. W. Bush and completed by Clinton with 70 days of bombing of Kosovo in violation of the War Powers Act and the Constitution. I’ve written extensive articles on this. See, for example, the Kosovo article on www.rmbowman.com/ssn.
Q. You state on your site “If I were President, I would pardon thousands of nonviolent offenders and political prisoners.” Who are the political prisoners you refer to?
Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu Jamal for starters.
Q. What do you consider to be the biggest threat to our nation right now?
The fascist regime of George W. Bush.
Q. Your running in what’s considered a very safe district for Republicans. Are you just trying to make a point, or do you think you can win?
A. I intend to win, and to win big.
Q. Why do you think Dave Weldon doesn’t deserve reelection?
A. He is merely a rubber stamp for the Bush Administration. He votes against the interest of the people of this country regularly. His voting record is rated as absolute zero by such groups as the Disabled American Veterans and the Association for Retired Americans.
Q. In closing, do you have a message for our nation’s youth?
A. We need a government which serves the needs of the people, not their own financial interests. Go to www.Bowman2006.com and read my Vision for America. We can have such a nation if we work together and take back our country. Study the issues, then register and vote. You are our future.

  1. If this moron had any credibility, he would have lost it when he declared Mumia Abu-Jamal as a “political prisoner.” I am avidly pro-life, and therefore against the death penalty in a nation with the resources (if not the will) to keep these people locked up forever. However, you can’t call a cop killer a political prisoner. Well, unless you want to start refering to Paris Hilton as a Nobel Laureate.

  2. I know you probably didn’t mean it this way (well, I don’t know that) and I don’t want all the fine bloggers at IMAO to be offended, but this is probably the funniest thing I’ve read in a while. At least since I read the last IMW. Moonbats are crazy. It would almost be worth it to let them have the house (not the senate because of nominations and treaties) this election because it would realistically still be too divided for them to be able to do much. And, the President could just veto any crazy legislation that they convince the Senate to include as well. Then, we’d all have a readily available source of laughter for the next two years, and we’ll win overwhelmingly in 2008.
However, we need to be careful, because a House chambers filled with moonbats like this would make me laugh so much, my doctor would probably be worried about heart attacks.

  3. Recipe for moonbattery (moonbatness? battery of the moon? Batter the moon with…nukes? nuke the moon? Wait… did I break the code?)
    5000 parts conjecture
    2 parts monkey spit
    0 parts space monkey
2 big cans of tomato sauce
    3 large apricots
    4 eggs
Preheat oven to 475. Crack eggs into a clear glass bowl (DO NOT STIR) and put oven in bowl for 25 minutes. Mix remaining ingredients in a paper bag and throw it in garbage. Don’t take out garbage for 2 weeks. Moonbat will grow out of garbage. Feed it gross eggs.

  4. Ben,
Normally I would agree with you, if only to teach people a lesson. Unfortunately, the House of Representatives is also the group that holds the purse strings. This means they could cause some real trouble if filled it with nuts like this.

  5. Writer: Good point. I just wonder how, exactly, it would be different budget wise? I mean, we’d spend the money on different things, but it’s not exactly like the House we got is the one we want. (The lesson here: You go into budget season with the House you have, I guess, not the House you might want.) If two years of a House that is horrible will bring us real conservatives in the next election, I’m willing to trade. Especially if a democratic House can convince Bush to aqquaint himself with the veto pen…
Something needs to change, and I’m just thinking out loud that this might be the best time to have that change happen. Of course, I’m not saying that I’d really want a liberal House…err…that could get scary, quickly. But it would start off high-larious(ly).

  6. the american people are about to turn over power in the house and the senate to dickweeds that believe this stuff…if he’s for real he will be a nancy pelosi and harry reid democrat…no matter what they say!!!

  7. “Curious. If you think this guy is looney because he questions why WTC 7 fell… edumacate me. Why did it fall?
    Posted by: JoeyJoey”
Uh. No. How about you tell us all about how it couldn’t have been caused by fall/fire from WTC 1 and 2.

  8. We know that the planning of 9/11 by al Qaeda was taking place long before Bush was elected President. Perhaps one of these conspiracy theorists could explain how Bush was able to:
    1. Conspire with al Qaeda while Governor of Texas.(So much for the theory Bush had never heard of al Qaeda before 9/11)
    2. Get al Qaeda to take credit for the attack even as they were being driven from their sanctuary in Afghanistan by their co-conspirator.
    3. Get al Qaeda to keep quiet about the conspiracy even as they are being decimated on the orders of their co-conspirator.
    4. Keep a lid on what must be the most wide ranging conspiracy in history.
and yet wasn’t able to plant a few WMD in a country the size of California.

  10. Guess this nutbat missed the recent Atta and Jarrah flick put out by Jihadiwood.
Yeah, yeah, maybe the good Doc would explain it was a ‘black op’ by the CIA….the very same CIA he gives props to for getting the intel on Iraq correct. But wait, they didn’t..

  11. Worth noting, Dr. Bob is a PHD engineer who worked in the “star wars” program, retired a Lt Col from the USAF, and flew more than 100 combat missions in Vietnam according to his bio.
He certainly sounds nuts, but he did at least start with some credibility to squander.

  12. Rape of Yugoslavia?
Having spent a bit of time in the former Yugoslavia recently I think this guy is seriously, SERIOUSLY off his rocker. Your average Slovene or Croat is mush happier living free than under Tito’s yoke. This guy is a nutbag.

  13. Interestingly (I hope) , I have a theory about Yugoslavia that I’d like you guys to sound off on. I’m no fan of Bill Clinton, but if you consider that had we not bombed Milosevic before he managed to kill all the muslims in Serbia and “Greater Serbia”, then the Chechens and the Afghans would have come in, along with Al-Qaeda, Pakistan’s ISS, and assorted jihadis to avenge the deaths of those muslims. This would have prompted Russia to begin supporting their ally in Serbia and would have eventually broadened the conflict to the Stans and possibly other former Soviet states like Ukraine and Georgia. Essentially a modified re-tread of the beginning of the First World War. Bottom line, I think Clinton’s intervention there, as weak as it was, may actually have averted an old school WWIII. Waddaya think?
Like I said, I don’t really like the former President much, but maybe credit where credit is due?

  14. Not much choice in that district: a nut and a doctor. Doctors are usually terrible politicians due to their narrow education and high opinions of their every opinion; force, not freedom, is their usual civic tactic.

  15. Wait, was that real? I mean really real?
He’d let off a cop killer and a Federal Agent killer as “political prisoners”?
Christ, I wonder how staffed and motivated the Secret Service would be if he was President.
Easiest Presidential Assasination Target ever I’m guessing.

  16. Wow, is this guy for real? He sounds like a bad mix of the worst of Kos, Huffington, and Air America… how many more ‘talking points’ could he say? I read all of his ‘issues’… I think my favorite was “The truth about 9/11 is that we don’t KNOW the truth about 9/11, and we should.” No, no, wait, how about “So the way to improve education is not to throw money at schools, but to throw money at families.”. No, my favorite is really “I support human rights; and the last time I checked, homosexuals were human beings. ”
You realize, I hope, that when he loses, it’ll only be because there was a conspiracy of big business, oil companies, the CIA, the FBI, Pres. Bush, and the religious right.
    What a whacko!

By common sense, Popularmechanics could be
more convincing in explaining WTC 7 if
    WTC 7 were a Mercedes-Benz or Ferrari.
    By common sense, reading Popularmechanics
can make Jay Leno ” know his cars inside-
out,” but cannot make him become a skyscraper designer or demolition expert.
By common sense, demolition experts are
the ONLY group of people who have the
authoritative knowledge to tell us that
WTC 7 was not brought down by demolition
(they just need to pinpoint one thing
    that is inconsistent with demolition).
