Hello all! I was organizing Saturday night’s Hootenanny when I came across these ladies from Korea, South I believe. I doubt they could be from the best Korea. So I decided to feature them for a special Hootenanny for everyone. The have a mix of covers of popular songs which cover a wide range. I hope you enjoy them.

There’s a Korean group called Winterplay who do some very good stuff. They’re a duo really – singer and trumpet player – the other musicians come and go. They do a great version of Be My Baby.
Coincidently, they do a song called Puppy Love but it’s original not a cover. I don’t particularly recommend that song. Their covers of As Tears Go By and Billie Jean are worth a listen.

Awesome!
Like butter!
But I was already like butter after Walrus’s bunch of songs.
A Wednesday night Hootenanny?
Leadbelly approves! . . .
His song “Black Girl” contains a snippet of lyrics I’ve found among the most memorable I’ve ever heard:
my husband was a railroad man
killed a mile and a half from here
his head was found in the drivers wheel
And his body hasn’t never been found
I’ll never forget those lyrics.
Truly fine.
Great selections!
They are Korean, not Japanese.
Ah. My mistake . . . I’m in awe.
