“The two sweetest words in the English language: de-fault!” -Homer Simpson

I often don’t think to credit the Simpsons when quoting them. It’s like clarifying that a quote is from Shakespeare; it should be known.

For an engineering problem to make me feel smart when I solve it, it first has to make me feel frustrated and dumb.

You can tell how popular something is with geeks by how thoroughly documented it is on Wikipedia.

Wow. It’s really really hot outside in other states.

Not looking forward to the terrible twos; that’s when I hear they become litigious.

I have a deer’s head mounted on my wall as a warning to any deer who tries to break into my house.

I’m reading the Hunger Games. Not quite as funny as Hitchhikers.

Made a children’s station on Pandora, and I get a lot of Jack Johnson. Guess it just seems like his music is meant for infants.

I hope all this debt limit debate nonsense reinforces how stupid it is we give these people any spending power.

New debt limit deal: GOP will approve of $2 trillion in new spending if it’s used to send Obama to the moon.

3rd draft of my novel is done. 102k words. I will be a published novelist. I will!

  1. Random thought: If The Simpsons had aired in the UK, it would have been cancelled before its prime instead of being allowed to coast along for no apparent reason.

Random thought: Isn’t it interesting how all of the mixing of human and animal embryos goes on in either evil diabolical countries or pantywaist European socialist countries? Since Obama and his ilk are philosophically related to those European pantywaists, I assure you all that I am content to have my healthcare controlled by Obama and his ilk.

Isn’t he a pron star? I’m pretty sure he’s a pron star. He shouldn’t be allowed near children.

    Milhouse: Who are The Beatles?
Bart: They wrote all the songs on Maggie’s baby records.

  3. To beat or not to beat. That is never the question. – Fred Thompson

Pandora is great, but if don’t keep a watch on it you can go from listening to Lightnin’ Hopkins to having Anthony Hopkins making disgusting noises while he eats your liver.

  4. According to the normal media:

Having no limit to spending or debt is fiscally responsible.

    and

Living within one’s means with a debt limit is fiscally irresponsible.

In other news, black is white and up is now down.

  5. “You can tell how popular something is with geeks by how thoroughly documented it is on Wikipedia.”

And, you can tell how popular someone is with liberals by how quickly they block any new factual additions to their Wikipedia page.

  6. Speaking of geekdom (note weak segue), I use regular expressions fairly regularly, but it has caused me to wonder if irregular expressions exist, and if so, what exactly would make an expression constipated? I can see why programmers prefer regular expressions because there are few things worse than constipated code.

It’ll work better if you mount it on the porch. The neighbors will appreciate it more that way as well.

  7. Got to wonder about Frank. The Hunger Games seems to be big among liberal parents right now. Unless the Hunger Games Frank is reading is about Moochelle at the Golden Corral.

Watching Teh One’s press conferance on Friday remoinded me grown men can have temper tantrums.

  8. @Ed, I’d go the other way with that one. I think you have a better chance of negotiating with the 2-year-old than an Islamic terrorist…the 2-year-old is far more intelligent, with a much higher level of understanding and maturity.

  9. Related, for Storm. I have a hard time imagining why any liberal would like the book, actually. It pretty much paints them all as useful idiots or waste of humanity Roman style “elites”.
