I know you want to know. Cause if you don’t some of youse isn’t gonna be commenting no more. Capisce?
Seriously though, I’ve been picking up new youtube channels to subscribe to and I thought I would share one with you. Check it out and maybe subscribe yourself.
This particular channel plays various video games and offers some pretty good MST3K commentary or some really outlandish game misplaying. I shan’t explain further, check it out and see for yourself.
This is the first part of a 23 part series going through the game. The videos are about 20 minutes long or so.
The channel is Let’s game this out

I’ve found a few “Let’s Play” series over the years that I’ve enjoyed. I don’t watch online videos often, so these are mostly old series. They were originally produced for the forums on Something Awful, so that’s what they’re referencing when they talk about “the thread” and the like.
Let’s Play Castlevania 64, by Evil Tim (Cruelest Chris): A British guy with a nice patter, mocking a Nintendo 64 game he seems to enjoy, but won’t admit liking.
Let’s Play La Mulana, by Agent 355: A nerd who’s excited to explain how to solve some intricate puzzles, with color commentary by a guy who likes to make fun of the nerd when he screws up.
Let’s Play Mega Man, by Simply Simon: He treats a well-known series as if it were unknown, so it has a relaxing, scholarly feel. Plus, his accent (German? Russian?) gives it an even greater “Foreign Professor of Literature” air, even when he swears.
I should’ve explicitly said: While it has a scholarly flavor, Simply Simon’s Mega Man LP’s aren’t really intellectual above elementary school level, maybe middle school.
Since I only found this about a week ago I’m going through them now so I have a lot of old stuff to see, This series gets seriously funny, I mean a literal LOL for me which does not happen often. I once literally rolled off my couch and laugh for an MST3K episode. These guys are close to that for me.
Cool.
The Castlevania 64 Let’s Play gave me some genuine LOLs, but it’s been a while, so by now most of the good moments you’ve probably seen in other media. The La Mulana LP is more of an action/drama with lots of comic relief, like a mid-to-high-grade Marvel movie. The Mega Man LP is something to watch when you want to relax.
My favorite Let’s Plays are the screenshot LPs that more-or-less turn into fan fiction, but I’ve had a harder time finding those lately.
I’m doing Forgotton Anne right now.
Gamers… why does it always have to be gamers?
It’s really hard to get non-gamers to make videos of themselves playing video games for some reason.
