Obama: Evil or Stupid?

There is some debate on whether Obama is evil and trying to replace America’s government with a fascist, socialist regime or whether he’s just an idiot who doesn’t know what he’s doing. For the record, I believe in the latter. If Obama’s horrible policies aren’t because he wants to take away our freedoms, they’re just because he’s an idiot who has no idea what he’s doing. Sure, he has desires to implement a ton of fascist laws, but they’re the same impotent fantasies every liberal has absent political reality. While the public thought the idea of Obama was neato, it’s become quite obvious they never really liked any of his actual policy ideas. Thus Obama’s political capital to try brand new idiotic ideas is pretty much already used up as even he might become cognizant to soon.

If Obama were a dictator, I’m quite certain he’d be a horrible tyrant who would strike down many freedoms, but as president at worst he’s Carter.

  1. I second Basil’s motion, America needs an African-American who’s articulate , bright, and clean as a figurehead. Now if we can only pry away those Presidential Powers

  2. Embrace the healing power of ‘and’.

Barack Obama is a narcissist. That doesn’t mean he’s just a vain metrosexual, which he clearly is.

What it means is that yes, it really is all about him. With his upbringing and background, is there any wonder that while he able to feign concern for others, he only ever acts in his own self interest?

It also means that he is constitutionally incapable of telling the truth when there is the slightest risk to doing so.

  3. Like all liberals, he actually has good intentions, he just denies that human nature will cause all of the well meaning policies to backfire.

    i.e., he’s stupid.

Basil is onto something, however, referring to Zero as “Her Majesty” has a good ring to it!

  4. Obama is totally clueless but also dangerous. Unfortunately, he has some degree of phony charisma that has fooled the majority of the brain-dead liberals in this country. However, that is wearing thin & his ineptitude is becoming more apparent every day. He may not be evil, but his thought process is mysterious & if left unchecked will destroy this country. Did he ever find his birth certificate?

  5. If you think President Slowbama is dumb, the nuclear threat to life as we know it is only two happy accidents away from being in charge. Perhaps we could change the line of succession to put some of the more inert cabinet members i.e. Ken Saladbar a few more slots up in the line of succession. At least Janet Neopolitan is last in line, which means if it came down to her the rest of us would probably be dead already.

  6. It’s not evil to want to help people but screw it up because you don’t understand what you’re doing. Plenty of very smart people have done that and will do that in the future.

It is wicked when someone persists in pushing failed ideas and has no regard for how he is devastating the lives of people he’s ostensibly “helping”.

It is evil when he is so focussed is on his own self-gratification that he views the devastion he causes as just punishment for refusing to recognize his genius and eminence.

  8. I vote for evil and willfully ignorant.

He’s a leftist and has spent his life surrounded in the warm, hate-filled cocoon of leftist groupthink.

I think he really believes it all, not because he’s stupid but because all dissenting thought is from “racists” and “rednecks”.
He might be stupid but we’ll never know because he doesn’t use his intellect. He uses his stimulus/response skills. Cop/black guy interaction with black guy going to jail? Racism. It’s as simple as that.

Of course, willful ignorance and stupidity are functionally the same, so it’s a distinction without difference.

We’re screwed either way. So enjoy the ride.

I’m actually absolutely enjoying this “race” dialogue he started. It’s at near election levels of hilarity as he and his spokestools keep saying, “Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?”

And the best part? This whole deal is helping sidetrack his march to socialized healthcare.

So even though it’s definitely part of the Funniest End of Civilization Ever, it’s far less endy and far more funny.

  11. Obama is a wartime president and so I will not criticize him and anyway he is way cool because he said, “We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense. And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken — you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.”

That said, I sure wish McCain-Palin had won in 2008.

Obama is only a US president, though, which is why he had to say “we” up there or face a revolution. Even if Obama’s Secretary of State’s husband did think it was a big constitutional crisis when the US Constitution functioned perfectly and he got impeached during his time in office, it’s not like Obama is Mel Zelaya in Honduras and can print up a bunch of ballots any time he feels like it and write up the election analysis on his computer even before it’s held.

No, Obama’s got to say “we,” not “I” when talking serious stuff (which isn’t too often because he is a politician). He has to respect us, and we him, at least basically, though we can wish things had turned out differently.

Maybe the election went that way because Obama and the rest of the Democrat socialists are on the losing end of history. Ambrose Bierce tried shooting socialists with grapeshot, or at least thought about it, about 100 years ago. He missed, and that made the American socialists bold and they tried to get elected: they couldn’t. Losers, always, but it never fazed them. They got slick and developed marketing and propaganda skills, but America outsmarted them and *elected* them! Now, they own Congress and the White House…and it’s like vaudeville. Everybody but their ever-shrinking group of friends is laughing at them. Nobody can trash American socialism like Pelosi, Kennedy, Obama, and the rest: they’re being laughed off the stage of American History, without bloodshed, and without hope of a comeback.

You have to pity them a bit. It must be hell to be Speaker of the House and get no respect from a lot of the country (because you don’t deserve any) and still have to get up every day and be Speaker of the House and disrespected even more. And it must be one of the deepest circles of hell to spend your whole life campaigning and finally end up in the White House only to discover what the job really involves. And. You. Cannot. Quit. There is no place on Earth you can go…but to work. And you live where you work. There is no escape for the next four years.

There’s a third choice besides “evil” and “stupid”: crazy. I know that’s what I would be, if I were in his place. But he’s got a family to grow, just like a lot of us, and he’s hanging on. He’ll probably make it, if only for their sake. America most certainly will.

And anyway, Obama is a wartime president and he did say that in his inaugural speech. I wish him the best, and hope he smartens up and cuts the socialist ties and starts befriending academic experts on Booker T. Washington instead of those like Gates who specialize in W.E.B. Dubois (though it’s probably too late for that, and he’s doomed along with the rest of the socialists).

And all the while, Ambrose Bierce, wherever he is, is laughing his butt off and I’m hoping Citizen Palin grows some long political legs over the next couple of years…..

  12. The problem I have with all of this “look who you voted for” stuff, along with “I wish McClown/Palin had won” is that we would be right in the exact same spot, only change would be the Ministry of Truth would be howling about how evil McClown is for doing all this stuff they’re doing now, and the MoT purrs with delight over. The difference between them is whether MoT tells us to love or hate the Prez. That’s it.
Reagan Democrats in the absence of a Reagan are… Democrats.
And about being “only” the President of the US: nothing else in the Constitution has any authority any more, why should the definition of the executive branch? We quit caring what the Constitution said ages ago.

  13. Right about the MoT.

Quite a surprisingly large number of post-1994 Republicans, in the absence of a Reagan, are…Democrats, too.

I don’t think we’ve reached quite that bad a state of constitutional hell, as Chesterton defined the worst hell of all in “A Defence (he was English and so couldn’t spell right) of Rash Vows”: “The one hell which imagination must conceive as most hellish is to be eternally acting a play without even the narrowest and dirtiest greenroom in which to be human. And this is the condition of the decadent, of the aesthete, of the free-lover. To be everlastingly passing through dangers which we know cannot scathe us, to be taking oaths which we know cannot bind us, to be defying enemies who we know cannot conquer us—this is the grinning tyranny of decadence which is called freedom. Let us turn, on the other hand, to the maker of vows….”

We’ve still got lots of vow-makers among us: soldiers, certainly; police; and others. Lots of us. Our freedom is really freedom — which means it’s not free, but it is real — so don’t let the lackeys of the GToD getcha down. Obama’s only the president, so he can only be evil or stupid or (I think) crazy, but we’ve got that fourth choice (a whole ‘nother dimension that doesn’t exist in the White House or on Capitol Hill, because we own the lease on those places): we can be free.
