So that IMAO isn’t inactive the whole weekend, here’s a video the McCain campaign released about McCain’s experience as a POW. You can make an argument that a cranky old bastard that can’t be broken is exactly the leader we need right now:

Here’s how sad this whole freaking thing is… at this point I would vote for just about anybody who had any semblance of expierence, wasnt a dyed in the wool socialist, and whose “spiritual advisor” for the past twenty freaking years didnt blame whitey because the wind blows.
I am a conservative, I tend to vote republican, and John McCain was NOT my first choice for commander-in-chief. That being said, there is much about this man to admire.
He has served his country with honor and integrity. He remains true to his principles regardless of the political winds. He is a man of faith. I may NOT agree with all of his policies, however, I firmly believe him to be the most qualified candidate.
As for Mr. McCain saying he was not qualified to be a Marine because his parents were married, I have this to say,
John, as with much in this life, some things are more tangible than others. If you were to ask any U.S.Marine they would tell you, being a Marine is as much a state of mind as it is physical. The physical training is tough, it is meant to be. Given the time and physical conditioning, a majority of adults would be capable of completing that aspect of boot camp. The REAL conditioning is in the psychological realm. I witnessed several recruits in much better physical shape than myself, fall behind the platoon, and were either re-cycled (Start boot-camp over) or discharged because they lacked the mental discipline to cope with the “head-games”.
John McCain may not have attended Marine Corps. boot camp, but, if the stories of his actions while a POW are even HALF-TRUE, I will tell you now, he would have passed Marine boot camp with flying colors!
John, the boot camp you attended set aside, I believe you would have made a hell of a Marine, and I would be proud to count you among our numbers.
SEMPER FIDELIS – from a dormant (but still dangerous) U.S.Marine!
McCain: You’re a Marine. Always wanted to be a Marine. Swindle: Well, John, you’re a Naval Academy graduate. You could’ve been a Marine. Why didn’t you become a Marine? McCain: Because I wasn’t qualified. Swindle: John, what do you mean you weren’t qualified? McCain: Well, my parents were married.
I’m not McCain’s biggest fan either…I prefer someone who doesn’t think they are smarter than the Founders. However, y’all gotta admit that McCain will make some TERRIFIC IMW’s. 🙂
Swindle:”…you could have been a Marine. Why didn’t you become a Marine?”
McCain:”Because I wasn’t qualified.”

I don’t like Mr. McCain. I don’t trust him as far as I could throw him. That said, someone has to win this election and the other two are light years worse than he.
How pathetic are we that we have come to the place where we have to pick the lesser of all evils?

Well, in fairness, both Hillary and Barrack could make similar videos about their younger days, except that instead of their fighting for their countries and years being tortured at the hands of the enemy, instead their old friends would be recounting how they were both getting high and having sex with ugly chicks.

I usually say that I am no longer practicing the art of war, but dormant works. Who knows, we may soon be called to action on our own soil with the way things are going.

Only if he doesn’t take away our right to call him a cranky old bastard…

McCain doesn’t even need to bother running anymore…. “McCain ’08 ’cause who would vote for the other guy?”

Ya know, McCain doesn’t even need to punch hippies. He just swings his big brass ones and takes out the whole lot of them in one fell swoop.
Dan Rather flunked out of Marine Boot Camp.
I graduated in Oct. 1969, my son graduated in Jan 2002, both from Parris Island.
