Will a Republican Congress Help Obama?

Republicans are now polling their highest in history on the generic ballot. It is kinda getting to be a perfect storm with the economy and Obama’s utter incompetence and the Democrats arrogance and taking the hugely unpopular sides on pretty much every single issue out there. The only way things could be better for Republicans is if they were marginally competent and had some charismatic figure for everyone to rally behind like Mr. T.

But how good is winning huge in this environment? Have you looked at the country lately; it’s going to be a lot of work just to get from super-crappy to somewhat crappy. And it’s not like Obama is going to be any help; he’s going to be all angry and refuse to sign any bills the Republicans pass. Still, maybe this will help Obama be a better president, as from his observed ability, the best president Obama is capable of being is one who does nothing since he pretty much just screws up anything he touches. Maybe when he can’t get all his left-wing agenda bills past the Republican congress, he’ll just give up and play golf for his last two years. His approval rating will probably skyrocket. And then in the 2012 election, everyone will be like, “Do we want a new president who might do something — ’cause last time a president tried to do something, that turned out horribly — or do we want a president who we know does nothing?” An Obama who does nothing but golf; not quite Coolidge, but pretty close. I might vote for that.

  1. The Republican Revolution of 1994 helped get Clinton re-elected in 1998. However, Clinton was smart enough to realize where he went wrong and took many of the Republican ideals as his own, having no core principals of his own. Obama is not that smart, and has core principals that I don’t think he can let go of, so he will continue to “rule” as though everyone still agrees with him, except those evil, mean, raaaaacist Republicans.

  2. How’s about we elect a dog? It’ll be photogenic, easy to clean up after, and really good with the whole “big stick” thing. Plus, without opposable thumbs it won’t sign any gigantic, unread bills into law. In fact, it’s much more likely to simply eat them.

  3. Republicans! What a joke! Like they are capable of doing anything different! They have been curled up under their desks for 2 years in a fetal position calling for their mommies while wetting themselves everytime Pelosi or Reid thundered down a directive! Now we are to believe they can lead? They all wear panties and got beat up in school for being the sissies that they are! I don’t trust them anymore than I trust the RATS! Sarah Palin, on the other hand at least has balls!

  4. I agree with Scott.

If Republicans pass something popular, like revoking all or parts of ObamaCare, Obama will veto it. Ditto immigration enforcement, entitlement reform, TARP reform…etc. And voters will continue to abandon him. Obama just can’t help himself. Just as he can’t keep his yap shut when everyone with half a brain knows he should (GZ mosque, “police acted stupidly”,…so on).

Obama will go on being the same Obama he’s been for the last 18 months. If he were capable of changing he would have done so long before his approval rating got to 42%.

  5. -Obama really deserves some a$$hat to come along and do to him what he did to Bush.

-I bet somewhere hidden away in a corner of his mind Obama respects Bush more and more everyday.

I think the rights new slogan should be:

-Bush was a huge crazy destructive idiot and Obama is twice as bad.

Q.-These 42% who still approve of Obama what would have to happen for them to change their mind?

A1. Say something nice about Israel, America, or Britian. Turn white like Michael Jackson

    Incorrect answers include:
    -Caught on film molestring kittens.
    -Mel Gibson like tapes.
-Murder a white woman who cheated on him.
-Caught forcing subordinates to perform BJ.
-have video of him attending a church that teaches aids was made by the us government to kill black people and destroy their family. (everyone knows that is what Oprah and welfare is for)

  6. Much like the presidential election, the only reason I will vote Republican is that they represent the only way to slow this descent. Other than that they are just the lesser of two evils. It is possible that they will get their collective feces together, but my confidence in that is at best 50/50. The system will have to be reformed in order to address the malignancy that exists. I think there exists a very real possibility of a viable third party in the next few years. Its either that or things are going to get very very ugly.

Oops! Sorry this is a “humor” site. I’ll end with….”There was a Bear & a Rabbit in the woods…..”

  7. Republicans should write a bunch of small simple bills with all the stuff that has 70%+ approval and force Obama to veto it. Then pass them all again. Make him have to publicly keep vetoing it all. The not paying attention public will see clearly just how far left Obama is.

  8. An Obama who does nothing but golf; not quite Coolidge, but pretty close.

Read annual GDP growth under Coolidge was 3.3%. The federal budget was balanced under Coolidge, under honest accounting; there could be no tricks played with a Social Security “surplus”, because there was no Social Security. I don’t think that we can even dream of the empty suit in the White House coming close to that.

  9. On subject, a republican Congress will not help Barry-O. I agree 100% wth DamnCat. He will do what he does best, send Michelle far away, and talk down to everyone around him including his own libtards, not listening and pissing everyone off. I CANT WAIT until Novmber, to see if Ried and Pelosi are out the door. What a glorious day that will be. I think “Senator Ma’am” Barbara Boxer may be on her way out too? Here is my off topic scoop — We need to get Chuck Norris to run for President and his VP will be the USMC’s most brilliant mind, Gen. Mattis in 2012!!!!! Neither of those men suffer fools, and theres alot of fools in Washington. Also, Id like to see a Palin vs Oprah no holds barred street fight.

  10. “Have you looked at the country lately; it’s going to be a lot of work just to get from super-crappy to somewhat crappy.”

Yeah, and these are the “good times,” Frank. We ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

  11. Okay, now I wish you were a Democratic advisor. That’s about brilliant.

I would not just vote for Obama if he did nothing but golf, I would donate to his campaign and even volunteer, how does one get a job at Acorn?

Heck, I’d agree to caddy for him if that’s what it took. I mean, taking off 4 years to caddy for Good President Log, well, that’s all about Teh Win!

  12. The unfortunate facts are that most of us have children or grandchildren who are going to be held hostage by the debt load this pile of pig droppings in congress and the white house has accrued (capitalization is for people and institutions I admire, sorry past English teachers). We desperately need some people in politics who have some kind of experience in business, creating jobs, making payroll, paying taxes and all the other things this cabal has no clue about. Of course those who have the skills don’t really want the job. Who in their right mind would WANT to be a politician today. Damned if they do……damned if they don’t, their privacy invaded, their families hounded, their every fraility exposed for the voyeurs on CNN or CBS.

Since when have we decided our leaders have to be “better” then we are. I know it’s trite, some might say corny, others might say too religious but “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. While I think our leaders need to obey the law, I am interested in the disconnect between what some of “we the people” do and what we expect our leaders not to do. Seems to me that until “we” clean up our own houses we will continue to get the leaders we so richly deserve. But then I’m a cranky old woman, who couldn’t possibly know anything about how hard it is to (insert appropriate hard activity here ) today.

  13. If we can get the whiny fake conservatives out of the way so that the rest of us can get to work, a Republican Congress will be awesome!
Stupid fakers wrecking everything with their silly melodramatic whines.
