I don’t ever encourage anyone to ever read YouTube comments (too much indecent language), but some people actually feel sorry for the thief.
For example:
“I do feel bad for the kid. The beating was entirely unnecessary. It’s good that he was apprehended by the police. The door thing was, I guess, instant karma or something. But being beaten up like that for trying to steal a lousy purse, what good would come out of that??”
Personally… I feel sorry for the woman whose purse he tried to steal. I don’t care what happens to Thievy McThieverson after that.

Bacon to that bus driver!
He’s clearly a master of Door-fu; his timing at trapping the hoods hand in the door was perfect.
Take the bus, leave your karma at home.
Go Greypwned.
Play awful games, win awful prizes.
Sic Mass Transit Gloria Mundi.
A kid reaches up and tries to grab a pot of boiling water off the stove and the parent smacks him, before he does, what good would come out of that??
Liberalism IS a mental disorder!
But being beaten up like that for trying to steal a lousy purse, what good would come out of that??
It might keep the crook from doing it again. If it happened frequently enough, it might even keep other crooks from doing it.
I’m not a man who’s inclined to snatching purses to begin with, but, if I were, I’m sure that my inclination to do so would decline as the probability that I would get beaten if I did it increased.
Come on, the bus driver was barely tapping him. If he wanted to do damage, he definitely could have
Bus driver didn’t even need to stop the bus to beat him. And he had that stick for a reason. Driving a bun in that area must be hazardous. The thief had an accomplice who didn’t get on the bus. The tow of them were ovbiously casing the entry and egress and timing the attack.
