They already are… it’s zero.

Well, sure, From his standpoint, it makes sense. That way, the world’s billions will be able to afford cheap computing devices and run Facebook on them.
The guy’s a twerp.
You first, Zuckerberg. After you divide up all your money among all the poor people in the world the rest of us will consider it. …well…we’re waiting….
Well, as soon as everyone has that basic guaranteed income, the cost of EVERYTHING will go up, so the minimum income will have to increase, which will drive prices higher, which will lead to price controls, which will lead to ever-increasing government control over the economy, which will lead to forcible redistribution of wealth, which will – whoops! – communism! Only there’s no “whoops” about it, really – it’s what they want.
The basic desire of every well intentioned proponent of social engineering is to control the way other people determine value.
Failure after failure after failure of their attempts to impose artificial value systems on others will not dissuade them that this type of control is both moral and possible.
It is neither.
Brilliant idea. I think it calls for “special” Free money. Something colorful so that those receiving it will know they are special. Dollar bills can be white, 20’s blue and, what the heck, let us even make $500 dollar bills! What could possibly go wrong?
This reminded me of this quote:
“Freedom is not empowerment. Empowerment is what the Serbs have in Bosnia. Anybody can grab a gun and be empowered. It’s not entitlement. An entitlement is what people on welfare get, and how free are they? It’s not an endlessly expanding list of rights — the “right” to education, the “right” to food and housing. That’s not freedom, that’s dependency. Those aren’t rights, those are the rations of slavery — hay and a barn for human cattle.”- P.J. O’Rourke
