Tuesday Night Open Thread

Well, it’s Hallowe’en.

Did you go trick or treating? Did you get a rock? Tell us all about it. Or about something else. Anything. It’s Tuesday Night Open Thread and whatever you’d like to talk about is what we’ll talk about.

Who wants to start?

  1. Can someone refresh my memory on roll the bat? My sister and I were talking about it earlier. I think it’s if you hit in the air and someone catches it, you’re out. If you hit on the ground, the person who (finally) fields the ball tries to hit the bat which the batter places on the ground in front of home plate. What did I forget, like scoring or bases or ghostman?

  2. No, no tricks or treats this year. But it reminded me of a conversation the other night with my cab driver. He said his grown children were chastising him for never taking them trick or treating when they were small.

When he said that, I remembered that my parents never took us trick or treating when I was a kid, either — in fact, nobody did. We went ourselves, like all the other kids, and like Charlie Brown did. Nobody had to bring us then.

    Kinda sad, isn’t it?
