Friday Night Open Thread

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve enjoyed Star Trek Continues. It’s filmed here in Georgia, where I’m located. They have a big ole set in Kingsland. That’s way down in the southeast corner near the Florida line. I really want to take a trip to see the sets before the production wraps up. I may have missed my shot. Oh, well.

[The Lord of the Rings Mythology Explained (Part 1)] (Viewer #6,180,274)

I recently re-watched the Peter Jackson “Lord of the Rings” trilogy (recommended), as well as the 1977 Rankin & Bass animated “Hobbit” (also recommended), and the 1979 Rankin & Bass animated “Return of the King” (which assumes you know the first two books, and just does the third – it’s a cinematic atrocity which no one should be forced to watch. Even worse than Peter Jackson’s “Hobbit”, which – unlike “Return” – did NOT having awful songs which you will find yourself humming afterward)

Anyway, this video should be watched before you watch any of the above.
