What fascinates me most about this is how he chooses which part to work on next. He’ll completely finish one area, and then move on to the next. I would’ve imagined he’d do a rough sketch of the whole thing and fill in the details by layers.
Clowns have never bothered me. When I was very little I saw a televised circus and remember thinking one of the clown acts was hilarious.
Fast forward to ‘93 or ‘94 I was dating a girl who’s aunt was a clown for parties and so forth. She wanted to go visit her aunt who was in town at a clown convention at a nearby hotel. Her aunt was nice enough but whoever was in charge of that convention really blew it. There was a paltry attendance and it just seemed sad. I felt bad for them and I didn’t even have a horse in that race.
